I attatched a skin wich basically shows all "madentory" stickers in its positions. ( ["09"] = Starting Number, [LFSlogo+"LFS"] = Flag + nat. code, Indy-thingy)
The Nations' codes and flags are attatched in the LFSCART_Stickers.zip together with the "indy-thingy".
Other Nations will be made when the Sign-Ups are opened.

About the Safety Car Procedure:
The Safety Car is going to be slowed down to maximumly 80mph (130kph). On road courses there will be a maximum of 3 Laps behind the Safety Car on Road Courses. So called Rescue Cars are given the task to get flipped cars back on their wheels (still NO RESET) if they don't succed before the safety car reaches it's inlap, the flipped car is out.

About Qualifying:
Generally it will be forbidden to use walls or glitches etc. to warm up the tyres. spins and sliding can be judged as dangerous driven and can cause penalties, depending on the situation.

About Nations Cup:
The Nations Cup is going to use the (new) Drivers' Championship finishing point system. The nations ranking is based on the finish of the best driver. E.g.:

Nations' Cup, Drivers' Championship and Teams' Championship standings are going to be updated through the season. Road To Victory Cup Results will be published after the last road race and the Oval Trophy results are going to be published after the last race of the season. The Road To Victory Cup only counts the best three (road) races of a driver, so it can also award drivers who decide to join, even during the season.

Race distance:
The race distance is set to final at least one week before the race. 75% of the race distance must be completed to count the race with full points. Otherwise only half points will be given for the race. In the case of an server chrash the results (times) of the parts will be counted together. If the server chrashes the lap before the server chrashed counts. The race clock will tick down, even when the server chrashed, sothat there won't be too heavy big delays for the racers. The maximum race durations are: Sprint: 30 mins, Feature race*: 75mins, Jamaica 200*: 150mins, SpeedWeeks 400*: 210mins, Clockwise 300*: 180mins, Kyoto 500: no limit

yes... no problem with having a Team called "Holland" as long as you don't have offensive names you can name your team however you want to name it...

in the ChampCar World Series there was also a team called Team Australia, and me and my team mate (wanted to) start under the name Team Deutschland in the UF baby-R Season 2
I'm actually in talks with the OWRL, we won't have schedule conflicts with the OWRL Division A during the upcoming season. I hope to be able to announce the dates soon. There will be several pre-season Events to fill the time, which will not count towards the championship.

also I like to announce that a modifyed version of Logo 3, will be the official for the next season.

By the way:

"CART light" is buried somewhere in my garden... so this won't be the killer of LFSCART

Pros and Cons Discussion Thread (Version 1)
Hi, I'd just need your help:

The carlendar stands, and the race distences are fixed. The procedure for racing will be Grand-Prix-Start Sprint Race and Double-File-Rolling-Start Feature Race at Road Course Rounds. But some aspects of Road Course Rounds I really would like to include, but I don't know wheather they would be too much. So I leave them open for discussion. I'll also leave a poll for the next two months so you are not forced to post a giant statement.

1.) Qualifying format:
As I said before, the qualifying is shortened to 10 minutes. It is open to all starters. I even have a solution for the unlike situation, that we'll have more then 30 drivers. Details to that will be only released in the Rulebook as I really thin that this is a very unlike situation to happen.

The thing about the Qualifying format, I'd like to have your thougts would be a so called "Top-8 Shootout". After the open Qualifying session, the qualifyied Top-8 will do two Sprint Races of 2 laps with madentory pitstop. In the first race positions 5 to 8 will race, in the second positions 1 to 4 will start. A tyre compound change will be madentory. The total race times will declare the grid position from pole for the fastest to position 8 for the last.

The Top-8 Shootout will the point in time, from wich a Live Stream / a possible post production will start. To make it timewise possible to everyone a LFSCART event would start 15 minutes earlier then last season (please note: Saturday racing not sunday racing )

2.) Warm-Up Lap during Sprint Race:
To be a bit more moderate, this idea wasn't made totally on my thoughts. Originally this idea was made for a STCC Season 2 by Becky Rose. It will give two possibilities. First off all everyone is able to bring his/her tyres on temprature. That would guerantee more grip during the first turns then with a normal LFS start. For Broadcasting and such stuff it would also give the opportunity to commentators to say some words about the starting line up, and other stuff, wich could end up not being said during racing action.

It would look like this: I'd load an layout wich shows where the start box is. During the warmup lap noone is allowed to overtake. When arriving on the start/finish area, you'll have to park in the park boxes. The start signal would be given by an automatic start light button thingy (that would be at least the plan) or a green flag.

3.) Madentory Tyre Compound Change
This would definately bring some more sense into the madentory pitstop for the Feature Race. You will have to use both, R2s and R3s during the race. Like in some serieses you only have to change 2 tyres at least, and not all. R4s are totally prohibited!


So now your turn, comment on my ideas, are they good or bad.

Hmm.. Personally I'd like to see a superpole rather that a race... But productionwise the race is a smarter plan. It'd also be very unique, and quarantee some action. Though it does have an obvious downside: The fact that no matter how badly you fail you still start 8th... but I guess a divebomb to the 1st corner would be penalized
yeah... Yeah, anyone who chrashes on purpose or things like that is going to get a penalty. It can be an easy penalty (45s on the Top-8-Shootout results) or a heavy penalty (suspension from the race and other penalties concerning upcomeing rounds), in between there are also some other penalties, like a 5 grid position penalty.
Changing compounds would be a disaster and make the series gimmicky and seem more like "Whacky Races". If you were to equate F1 tyres back to the LFS nomenclature then if prime is R3 then the option would be R2.6 or R2.7.

R2 are qualifying tyres for FO8 now. R3 and R4 would be less ridiculous, but there would still be no strategy in it as you would just run R4s for the shortest possible period.

As for the warmup lap - we tried that in OWRL F1 and it didn't really serve the purpose. Tyres were not warmed significantly and there are all the disadvantages (warmup lap crashes, drivers in wrong order, no native jumpstart penalty).

Well, if you're only changing two of the tyres, eg. only the front two ones, in my experience, they are going to wear well for about 40mi, if you can handle them... maybe that's only because of my slowness

ups...didn't thought of these points... native jumpstarts okey... something which could be controlled, but the drivers in wrong order and the warmup chrashes... two big cons I did not thought of...
I just ran over the replays of last season, and saw, that we had many interesting scenes, some nasty incidents but all in all good racing in season 1 made fun looking through them

One other thing to add - I would say that drivers who wish to compete in the oval races (the 500 excepted which has its own criteria) should race and complete a certain percentage of laps of the preceeding road course races. This would keep the races as part of the championship and not have them invaded by oval "specialists".

Is the starting time definitively fixed to 6:00pm? Because if yes, I won't sign-up to this league for some reasons...(read : dinner)
I there will be some discussions about the starting times... I didn't speak much about it with the rest of NDR yet.

Totally agree with Storm here. This led to a nasty incident in one of the rounds when i took Mr Storm Cloud out when trying to make sure I stayed with the 'oval specialists' as i needed the points.

Sorry about that Storm, it was a stupid move.

Making sure guest oval specialists cannot interfere with the seasons racing is a good thing and i agree that making sure they have competed in previous rounds would do just that.

LFSCART 2009 Safety Car
I just open a poll where you racers can decide what car will be the official safety car. The rescue car is fixed to the RB4.

Vote post spread around some ideas.

The options you'll have:

Scirocco (might be slow but a real car)
Raceabout (real car, middle fast)
FZ 50 (middle fast LFS own car)
FXO GTR (upper class of quickness)
XR GTR (fastest car in the poll)

Note... the poll will close on valentin 's day
From a SC Driver's POV, I'd say that the FXR would be ideal, though the FZ5 and the VWS are both good choices too.

My only reservations are that the VWS will probably be a bit too slow in a straight line maybe...

I say FZ5.
FXR is very stable, easy to drive quick enough to keep the racers moving fast enough.

We need a suitably qualified SC driver for CART and oneGP seasons..regardless of car, would be good to recruit a full time SC driver who can do what you need and understands what is going on/required.

If it is not one of the GTR cars then it will be a joke series. FO8 cars following a non-downforce wheezer like the VW is ridiculous. Lap times on a long Aston config would be over one minute slower, so tyre temperature would be a massive issue.

Can't believe you're having a poll on this, or that such unsuitable cars were included.

New Entry way
LFSCART will have a new possibility of entering the series. Last season everybody had to sign up on his own. The entries were personally. In the new season we will allow Teams to demand a certain number of entry spots (up to 4). The Team can send every driver they want to the race and they are gueranteed these spots at each event (exept the Kyoto 500). The team manager needs to announce which racer is starting in the upcoming race (like in oneGP) These "Team spots" will be limited, sothat independent racers also have a chance to enter LFSCART. If there are more demands then spots (e.g. 18 Team Spots availabe, 8 Teams demand totally 22 spots) the decision on who will get the team spots is made by certain criterias (tba). Details will follow later with the release of the rulebook.
