F12 menu/ Add fuel at pitstop
When you pit, you automatically fill up with fuel, unless you tell it to not to add any. well i have had an idea that makes it more realistic.

it is similar to the tyre change options, as-well as adding certain amounts of fuel such as 30%, you should have an add fuel if less than, sort of thing, for example; <35%, so you dont have to add fuel on every stop.

This means you use fuel more realistically, not getting down to 90% and then pitting and re-fueling.

+1/-1 + reason please!!

It doesn't automatically do anything you have to set it up to do something, you're making it sound like there is nothing you can do or you have no choice in the matter, you only fill up with as much, as little or none at all.

I don't see why it would make you use fuel differently or even why that's an issue, maybe I just don't get it or see a problem with the current system?

Seeing your join date, you may not know this: the refueling used to work that way, and it recently got changed to the "refuel set amount + 3 %"-system. So I don't see Scawen changing that back anytime soon...

I know, it's just that every time pit you don't need to fill up. I just thought it would be more realistic and more strategic as to whether or not you should fill up on your next stop.

You may also get more people running out of fuel which should be a laugh!!

+1.

Sometimes I have my tank at 15% full, and I have my settings to refuel 20%, and then every time I pit again, it adds another 20%, so eventually I get to around 75/95% and it makes my car a little sluggish with the extra weight. The way it's setup now, it's like every time you stop at a gas station, your car is automatically filled up, even if you're just going in to get some coffee or something.

Plus I'm too lazy to turn it off.
What about an option where the fuel guage is larger and it's a matter of pressing (say) the horn when you have enough fuel?

Sorry but, lazy ppl don't win races.

The fuel filling up to a specified amount was removed because that is an unrealistic way to work it. They throw in 10 gallons or w/e, the pit crew don't know exactly how much was in there to begin with when you pull up to the pits, (you actually get to see that before you pull in to stop which should only be a needle guage if you ask me. A-N-Y-WA-Y- that's a different thing), so you have an advantage over realism with that already. The pit crew could only guess how much is in there afterall they wouldn't know to the exact % what remains.

Your strategy IS to work out how much you need to get to the next stop or finish and subtract that from what's likely to be in the car. That's how it's done in real racing right?

So even though it's a complete pain in the butt to do fuel now and I understand what the OP wants I still think its -1

And the excuse for "You may also get more people running out of fuel which should be a laugh!!" etc, I already see that happens alot more now with the new(fixed) fuel systems, because they have it set too low and the car isn't always returned to a "safe level". But this is a matter of perspective.
