Most of the little towns along the GOR are nice and they're all set up for holidaymakers so you'll find somewhere to stay in each one no bother. Lorne, Apollo Bay and Warambool are all lovely places that stand out, particularly Lorne.

And ( seriously ) watch for the Roo's when your driving, they seem determined to take out as many cars as possible. Like most Australians they seem less intelligent than sheep.

Also, watch for the poisones drop bears, and the Western Oriental Giant Wombats, woah the fangs on those? and did i mention fast? good luck if you meet up with one of those!
If you have come all this way it is worth the quick visit to NZ as you are down this way for a while.
Grab a camper and hack round South Island to places like the Sounds, some of the Lakes and Mt Cook and also do East to West coast through the mountain ranges. It is also still ski season with 5+ resorts within a quick drive of Christchurch.

I'm amazed that anyones still alive in the country, Croc's, sharks, spiders, Jellyfish, Snakes, Tigers ( wait, they've made them extinct ) Dingo's, and the list goes on.
Still, generally they seem to prefer English tourists to the natives so I guess you'll be ok.

MotoGP tickets came through yesterday, also, was a little concerned about the amount of traffic getting onto Phillip Island on race day, so I decided that I am gonna drive from Frankston to Stoney Point and get the ferry over to Cowes on Phillip Island, then take the shuttle bus, anyone done the Stony point to Cowes ferry?, have I made the right choice!!!!
