The world is going to end, the world isn't going to end. Either way, whatever happens will happen, so there's no point assuming something based on a paranoid 12 year old's predictions.
nobody is afraid of being dead its dying thats scary and theres hardly a quicker way to die than not seeing an event horizon
when it comes to dying at the age of 80 in horrible pain from cancer vs facing a black hole ill take cern any day
and in case no one has told you yet... we are _all_ going to die
A black hole would be a pretty awesome way to die anyway. Not many living things in the existence of ever have been sucked into one and knows what it feels like. Must be pretty cool.
considering REAL black holes are caused by massive stars collapsing in on themselves, and according to many of my teachers we will need a mass of particles that is equal to or more than 4x the sun for any resonably big black hole to occur, all we are going to get tomorrow is a big fail, i doubt anything new will be detected
i cannot beleave it. 59 people on my msn have sent 1 chain message to me in the space of 1 hour on this subject. they really do not know anything about it at all. people have on their names "see you all in heaven or hell as tomorrow we wont be here!" or other rediculous things like "i dont want to die like this, as specially when im asleep!" get a life those people - or atleast spare this one for as long as they can!
Of course, they're not even sending any particles down t'intertubes tomorrow. They're just gonna fire her up to make sure it will actually work. Sometime in October is when the particles get launched. All is well...for now
And yes, I would get myself a kick ass plasma if I knew the world was going to end and there was wide-spread looting. Family time? Screw that, Top Gear on 72" is where it's at
Unfortunately, due to time also being sucked into the black hole along with your other 9 or more dimensions, you're going to die very slowly - possibly over millenia. Thankfully, owing to the theory of relativity, it'll be over by lunchtime in your own space time continuum, at least for the bit that go in first.
If I where you i'd try to make sure that it's your head leading the way - otherwise you might end up experience the longest 'oh shit' moment in history.
Anyways, the world not gonna end, I still owe lots of money to banks and stuff, and I am not lucky enough to see all my debts wiped out..EVER!
/me looks on the bright side, If I'm dead, at least I will be debt-free for the first time in 30 years!
Besides, I watched lots of Doctor Who episodes, and there was nothing on that about the brains at CERN destroying the planet...we all know that happens 5,000,000,000 years in the future when the Sun explodes.
Oh, wow. Everyone at my school was taking about this too! I was thinking about not doing my homework and telling my teachers I didn't do it because I thought the world was going to end.
I love how everyone here, in this thread and across the internets is ignoring the fact that no particles of any sort are going to be fired at each other until the 21st october
