That's actually a pretty cool game. I just won a race with 95 wpm
Wow, pretty good game for getting your typing skills super awesome. But I'm sure 170 wpm is insane even for ultra programmers...

I once did 120 and it really felt if I'd go any faster my fingers would fly off
In actual fact, the world record for typing is 170 wpm, so I think the guys doing 170 on this webgame are cheating somehow. (Why the hell would you cheat at that game???)
I can't write fast enough, is it an advantage to use english as mother tounge? I find some words extremele difficoult, but writing normal words goes fast without delays. Fastest I'v done were 80.
I'd probbably have done better, but it goes one letter at a time, rather than the whole paragraph. Much harder imo
Just did two races, got an average of 87, on a laptop! Second time I got 93 wps.
Yeey, I'm great
Dosn´t really work for me (see the ´ in don´t). It´s the Char we use in Germany, but on that page they use ' which is odd to type here.
On a German Site when I did a test I got 565 Characters per minute. I don´t know how much Words that are in English
But in this Race I suck... I hate that '... I would rather use the ´instead :-)
imagine a typing keyboard in which each letter is a musical note

you scroll letters on the screen and as you type them you play a tune

wouldnt be a great way to learn typing?

having fun playing an instrument while you leanr to type?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I was "racing" a couple other people earlier, and was leading when all of a sudden this one guy - who was somewhat behind - suddenly jumped way ahead of me. Like, one second he was behind me, the next BAM... way ahead. I thought that was a bit fishy. His speed was 150 something. I'm sure that's possible, but I just found it a bit weird how he got ahead all of a sudden

Damn cheaters... where's the admin of that thing so I can report his ass

EDIT: it was that Nathan Barrett guy, who's currently leading with 183 wpm. If the world record really is somewhere around 170 wpm, then I think it is pretty likely that bloke is cheating.
EDIT2: there's people with 200+ wpm... Really makes you wonder if those are for real.

My mother language is portuguese, so I'm very proud of my results: 91 wpm best, 88 wpm average
I do really think having english as mother language is an advantage, whoa how can anyone write faster than 100 wpm?
I mean, maybe if this was in portuguese....
I should learn to type on a Dvorak keyboard. Playing this game and trying to go as fast as possible just highlights how utterly stupid the QWERTY keyboard is.

Most people can type 25-50% faster on a Dvorak once they get used to it.
81 WPM here

And I pointed the site out to the Duke

I thought I'm fast, nice speed guys, my average is 56 WPM, just enough to be mega racer

Hmm... I'm sure it is but we're so standardised with the layout of QWERTY.

It's like swapping the clutch and accelerator pedals over on a car... I'm sure it'd work the same if not better... but would take AGES to get used to
It's actually very easy to get used to - studies have shown that people with no prior experience with anything but QWERTY can be comfortable with Dvorak with just two hours' practice. The real problem lies with keyboard manufacturers who still cling to the old, outdated standard. Just like us Americans with Imperial weights and measures.
My personal best was a while ago 97wpm .
What is the Dvorak layout? I've heard of it, but am not sure what it is
I did a game similar to this before, and i got 61 wpm. but i cant do this one cos i might have a broken arm and im in a cast

It's a keyboard layout that in theory is faster but would need a lot of relearning.
Dvorak's inventions are also something you can use to show how much of a geek you are .
