Complicated situation
Right.

On this computer is a BIOS password that was set. My mom has forgotten it as she reset it and we leave the computer on.

The big question: How do i get rid of the password without turning the computer off?

Thanks in advance

You can't - easiest way is to unplug the PC from the mains, take out the onboard battery and leave it.

Or do reset the CMOS.
Reinstall windows might work?

Reinstalling Windows will not touch the BIOS and is also a very drastic step.
So if i take the battery out on the motherboard and leave it for a couple or minutes or so what else will it reset?
Only BIOS. It wont affect your files on Windows.
Well i mean what will affect in the BIOS?

I know it will do the date and time but referring back to my origional question - I cant access the BIOS because it is passworded - How do i know what to set the options back to because apparently it is 'complicated'

Cheers ;]
Nothing really important for you.

It will set them to default. I'm sure that the default settings are the settings your using now.
xD I never watched the video. I just googled for "hack bios password" and posted it.

It's very handy to show someone who doesn't know what to do, I don't believe that you didn't watch it cause it could have been anything at all, and why would you post a link for something that you have no idea about cause you didn't watch it that’s not even a little bit helpful.
Why should I actually take time out of my evening to watch a video, that could be a waste of time. If you must know, I'm downloading NFS:Carbon on Bitlord, my net is very slow as it is, and I didn't feel like waiting 10 minutes for it to let me stream a short video.

Edit : excuse me for helping.

What I mean is, if you don't read an articale or don't watch a video then post it as help how do you know it's actually going to help.

And if you didn't want to waste your own time by watching it because it could have been a waste of time, why waste everyone elses?

If you want to help then you really need to know what it is you're posting.
Eh... what is your problem?

I googled it, it came as the only video, 2nd from top. Since google gives results based on relevance, I made an assumption (which was correct, by the way) that it may in some way help the OP to solve his problem)

It turns out it wasn't a waste of time, only time I've wasted is my own googling....
You've missed the point totally.

If you want to help someone then that’s great, if you take the time out to find some help then that’s even better but, in this case, if you can't even be arsed to watch the video because it could be a waste of time, then how is that helping.

You got lucky because the video was relevant, but you had no idea that was the case when you posted it.

All I'm saying is that it's a good idea to be sure about what you're posting, even more so when helping out someone who doesn't know know much because it could totally throw them off.
Eh... did you not read?

I trusted google and posted the video, I don't need the lecture on how I should verify content before posting it, please.

All I came into this thread to do was help the OP. Not get a load of crap from you.

Nah, downloading some stuff and I couldn't be arsed waiting for the forum to load.

10-4.
Posting random links and false statments about things you think you might have some idea about is irratating and counter-productive. I'm sure the OP is quite capable of finding the first result off google, and is probably posting here because it didn't answer his question.
Well I'd argue back saying that it's not a random link and how the false statements are actually true etc, but quite frankly I'm too busy eating

I'm sorry for trying to help. I shant commit such crime again.

/leaves thread.
