Welcome to the 22nd Soap Box Championship of South City. Today’s competing teams Conedodgers, Concept Racing and Team Inferno will have to master the tricky long course in reversed order with the hugely overpowered Soap Box named LX6.
The demanding combo promised close battles on the narrow roads.
The qualification showed a slight advantage for Inferno bringing most of their racers into the top 10 out of the 25 starters.
And the first race has already been a blast. Battling for positions throughout, all over the track, changing positions in every corner and marking of the territory by leaving colour marks of your own car on the competitor’s cars.
The tail happy car proved to demand a lot of concentration which some of the racers were partly lacking. When accelerating out of the tight hairpin after the first split, some racers lost their cars in stylish but not so fast Scandinavian Flicks and the hard fought positions were lost in just one corner.
The reversed grid solution again showed its advantages leading to 3 winners of different teams in the first 3 races. But it also caused the one and the other start carambolage when racers lost control over their rolling cigar boxes and converted into half stationary road blocks. When 2 thirds of the grid had left after one and a half hours of quality racing, the battle went into the final stage. The remaining racers, each with very similar paces, flew threw the walls of South City, neck on neck with each other for the whole race. Cars were going side by side for 3 or 4 following corners with out any crashes or unfair manoeuvres. It really was first class racing at that point till the end. There were a few unfortunate bumps nudges and spins, but that’s racing, some might say “that’s rwd”, id say its “Inferno Nights”
I would like to end this small article by again saying a big “Thanks” to all the participating teams for showing up with so many dedicated drivers and for the fair and friendly atmosphere that has been on the track for all the time.
I hope you liked it as much as we did.
[CD] Birder: Thanks to Inferno for a lot of fun, and sorry everyone for holding you up, but still it was not for long. Done my calculations, i was spun out 6 times and rolled once, next time i will use my steath skin.
[CD] GANSAN:Track/Car combo was very demanding and it was great fun with great drivers. Now I know why Formula One drivers have mixed emotions of love and hate about Monaco GP.
[CD] Dimo Yeah.. Yesterday after I won one of the races I felt myself exactly like Vettel...
[CD] Broe Thanks to Inferno for that event.
The car and track was much fun. I hope there will be an event like this again.
And I like some of the CR guys because sometimes they were behind me.
[CD] Robubba: Overall it was fun. But I think some didn't get the message that it was supposed to be a fun event. I think there was one (1) race that I got thru the 1st lap untouched. All the others I got spun by drivers. But that was my fault. Next time I'll know to be way more aggressive in my driving style
[CD] Droemel: It felt a bit like racing in OLFSL or BOTT, only with shorter races.
I hope you will make a video out of this great stuff.
CR|TwinFlow: Loved the Combo, the track was great. The races got better as it went on and was great fun in the end.
CR|Eisbaer: Great close racing, had a lot of fun.
CR|Dru: Close, exciting, interesting races throughout the field. A pleasure to be involved in, how LFS should be all the time.
CR|Swiss_Tony Everything went great, it was also a fairly welcome break from our tight schedule recently. Mission accomplished.
CR|Bean0: The combo was pretty challengig and a few small accidents turned into larger ones, but this all adds to the excitement.
A top night of racing, thrills & spills throughout the pack.
Edgar.Inferno: A great night at south city with soaped ass lx6 and more than 20 racers ; high sensations were "au rendez vous" !
Csur, i hope you enjoyed the handbrake method to pass you at the hairpin, in lap 4 Almost 3 laps cost to cost, you gave me a lot of pleasure bab... mate
V.Szabo.Inferno: LOL, was very nice hon...., erm, mate
Was a very fun combo, I like the lx6, there was some very good racing especially with Edgar in the 1st race. Thanks for everyone who was there!
N I K I.Inferno: That was one hell of a great event. I had just enough practice to make it drivable, and had an awesome fight with Jorn in race 1. I lost focus for just a bit in lap 3 and there it was 3 crazy laps, so full of material for video :
I also liked the start of 5th race. Specially the moment before the harpin.
There were a lot of more great moments like racing with General
TBH I thought it will be so hard to pass, but it wasn't since car is very tricky, and reversed grid races were blast.
Definitely best fun night so far.
Commander.Inferno: It was my first real race in the LX6 and I was stunned. I have never imagined that you can battle so closely. And SO4R was a blast in that car, A+
Fidi.Inferno</em>: I hate this combo. Otherwise I like the SO tracks, and like the lx6. I had a race with lx4 on the so4, and that was a big fun. I don't think for a big difference. But it is a big difference... So, next time I will practice more, before i venture to a race with you.
