The online racing simulator
LFS realistic? i don't think so.

GRID agrees with everything, gran turismo is no tire deformation, suspension damage. nfs is a fantasy arcade racer.
Please try to prove that LFS is wrong before stating the physics are shit.
My grand father, who used to do some track racing when he was younger (he now is 79), gave a test spin to my XRG to prove that a simulator will never be even 1% close to reality.
After two laps on FE Gold, he managed to get 1 second close to my PB. The only thing he had to say was that visual outputs from the game were not good. Not meaning the quality of the graphics, but about the FOV and the sense of speed.

So please, get your skills better BEFORE you try trolling a game which does not lack any of your mentionned points. If you think that you can take an hairpin at 130 kph with a road car on road tires, please, go ahead, try it IRL and tell us whether GRID (where it's possible) or LFS (where you'll end up in the wall, or the sandtrap) is the most realistic, if you are still alive.

I would also like you to start an apology thread to the devs that let you gracisouly try their game for free when you will have realized all the things you said were not true. (except for the graphics, but this doesn't matters :P)

What? Nobody told you about physics v2.0? You're missing out mate.

Newtonian++ we're calling it. We've been looking at what people would like in physics, such as what is possible in FPS games, and backporting the features into real life. Double jump and air control have been added, as well as the ability to toggle clipping and carry a near-infinite number of weapons. Teleportation should be coming in the v2.1 patch, as well as the ability to have control over the rate at which time flows (not multiplayer compatible).
LOL! xD
If you want realistic sit on a kitchen chair with a plate in your hands and make apropiate sounds with your mouth.
I really wonder what yer age is.. Apparently you've never driven a car yourself..
car
I've driven a go cart :P

if you're saying stick with NFS, NFS is effortless handling comapred to grid or LFS.

I haven't tried online yet, I heard you people can apply rules, like no bumping? that's worth a try.

So 540 degrees is what you recommend?

And i'm 24.

There's a new NFS coming out anyways, but LFS was free. what degrees do you recommend for steering? in grid, most say keep it around 200.
if i had a wheel id do the full 900*.

I laughed when I saw you are a demo racer that hasn't even played online. You are very funny.

Stop feeding the trolls. You know how they get.
1.The point of the game is physics , not graphics , you call yourself a petrol head if thats what you are upset about?

2.that is why people are playing online

3. have you heard of wheelspin?

So you actually have no clue on what driving a car is like or not, yet you still bullshit about LFS being unrealistic?

WTF!
Go buy S2
I really don't understand.. You say your 24, yet you only have driven a Kart? And besides, karts are completely different to road cars.. I have raced both Karts and Cars (Circuit racing and hillclimbs) and I use a totally different type of driving for karts than cars. Seriously, go out and get a car up to 160kmh (100mph) and take a yank on the steering wheel. I can almost guarantee you will slide, and maybe flip if your lucky. NFS and other such ARCADE Racing games, are made for total noobs like you.. LFS is made for the racer.. and the wannabe racer. its as real as possible.. unlike NFS where it is just about making money.. I mean seriously, take a look at the names.. Live For Speed - LIVE, a person lives for speed, not wants, LIVES for it. Need for Speed - A person wants speed, needs it, doesnt live for it, just wants it. If you wanna race unrealisticly. then LFS is NOT for you. Thats my 50 cents :P

A 35mph Fun Kart at your local fairground doesn't count.

Try increasing your FOV, perhaps you just think your skidding at 20kmh when perhaps your FOV is making 50-60mph look slow.
Quote from slugz :What kind of info do you want? the only way you can make turns is if you slow down to 20km or less per hour and that is just stupid.

? that is pecause you are bad driver, many people can do corners in 20< speed. its about skill, not the physics

Go away, noob.

+1 A bad workman always blames his tools.
I'll say how I see it.
You cant expect to be good/fast at your very first attempt(or even stay on track), same in real life, you cant just become a racing driver in no time. (especially, if you dont know the theory behind it all) Same with LFS, you have to practice, to stay on track, I mean the car is neutral, not like in nfs/grid.. Everything matters, the tyre temperatures, the setup of the car, the timing of your throttle/brakes/steering, the xfg/xrg aint so easy to go fast in, because they are not built like racing cars, but they can go fast, you just have to get the feel/timing down ... I'll just say, its not as easy as you think, to drive nicely... oh... go-karts are totally different than cars.. everyone can drive a go-kart Oh, and you probably are using full throttle/full brakes/fast steering in LFS if your skidding at those speeds, racing is about being as smooth as you can near the limit

Effortless handling != realistic. Just in case you weren't aware of that.
I think the reason you think Grid is real is cuz you've only driven a go-kart, and I have to say, Grid handles like that a bit..

But if you want a kind of go-kart in LFS you should take the MRT once. But you need an S2 license for that :P I really love the MRT on the smaller tracks.
Only one problem,

MRT handles like an MRT, not a go kart.. well, at least not a racing go kart.

I meant more like it feels the most like a go-kart in any racing sim. It's steers direct, it has only 270deg steering, and it feels damn fast. I have to admit I only drove commercial go-karts with 6-10bhp , however the one I drove at Mariembourg, Belgium in the wet felt like it had about the double amount at least..

Don't know how many tracks I've driven, but I guess about 8 or something..
