I am not sure what I am supposed to do after completing an autocross run, the clock starts again but there is nowhere to go.

Thanks that's what I was doing. Since the clock reseted and started again after completing a run instead of stopping, I was wondering if I was missing something.

A quick Shift+R to get it going again, like with drag racing. I recommend using the Shift+key cmds for greater speed, helpful for online.
