No wonder i've been losing races and stuff. With all my sets, i've changed the clutch locking power to 10% (as i use a mouse and hate oversteer), and turned the TC down to around 3.4..........But I found out today that it's the worst thing I can do and that I should change front camber and front suspension instead
Yeah. Lowing your tc and clutch's power % too low really robs you of speed. Having tc at about 3.8 seems to be a safe setting for most tracks, though still pretty low. And having the power % set to about 30-35% should still be safe enough while allowing you some speed. But it's all about what's right for you. Here's a little guide for tweaking...
Suspension- Softer front, oversteer / Softer rear, understeer
TC- Lower, understeer and slower
Differential- Lower, understeer and slower (for power setting)
Tire psi- Harder front, understeer and faster / Harder rear, oversteer and faster
Wing- Lower front, understeer and faster / Lower rear, oversteer and faster
And everything is vice versa (aka: harder front suspension gives understeer). Hope that was clear enough to be of some help.
On second thoughts i wont be joining, i would really like to but my RL commitments and my other leagues will become too much, lots of tests in school atm,
Well, I've been hotlapping tonight. I use the Team Inferno set, whic I think is fine. By the way, I broke my finger so don't complain about my lap times! With a splint on my right index finger (hard to upshift) I get around 1:19.50's. (On Sunday night).
Today, I went hotlapping and got a time of 1:18.[?19?] (Balls, forgot it, was offline too!) Anyway, I'm taking my splint off tommorow for the race. Bad for my finger, but who cares :P
Also, I'm still unsure about the yellow flag thing. Will their be an announcement on whether it's a full course yellow, or just yellow in a section?
i have a suggestion to the layout: i think there will be some problems with the sticks you used in the oval parts. perhaps you only need the sticks where the white line is not full drawn, but the yellow exists. so they are not in the insides of the fast parts (they fly around without directly touching them) but mark the entry and exit of the pitlane very clear
Formula Racing will be denied entry into Round 11 - this is an application of rule 1a, after what the Race Director considers fair warning. I didn't want to do this, as I don't want this off-track decision to impact the title race, but, the grid is large now, and with the warning, I feel that the decision is satisfactory.
If SR cannot both score points (i.e. 1st and DNF, or 9th or higher, the Team fight will still be super-close, and the Driver's title will get closer, especially if wOoOzZy can score megapoints. Still, even if SR score 18, the team title fight is still tight, and a bad race from either can spell a change in tide.
Attached with this post is an image that has the Official corner numbers that I will refer to.
Everyone who is eligible to race (and a couple administrative beings) should have recieved a PM - majorchrille and another 1stBFA driver (I forget the name...the not hajele (pardon the probably buggered spelling) person - the other person who's LFSName starts with an "h" - if a 1stBFA person could please pass the Password on to them, I would appreciate that.
I would also like to extend my complete thanks and appreciation to everyone for their participation in this thread. I intend these threads to be used as such - discussion of the race: Times, asking for setup help ("ZOMG !!!1!!! T3H C4R 1Z UND3RST33RY !11!!!!1one!!!111!! H3LPZ0RZ !!1!!), discussion of the race - I see it as a way to generate interest in the series, and show it's active, and friendly.
Good luck...off to bed to have a small sleep before raceday starts.
In mazs prolonged absence FRO havnt been organised. Hibex was intending to race all along and we should have posted his lone entry here. He sent you a lfsworld PM last week.
I trust this is satisfactory notice to allow him to be the sole representative of FRO at this round.
maybe an appeal to everyone today who's driving, don't do the same like in the International Formula Master's Race today, where they had 3 Cautions so far, because of drivers not leaving room to eachother. There were partly new drivers in the field, like in today's OneGP race! We're having a race of over an hour, so keep cool, stay away... I know such behaviour should be normal for us... but it should also be a normal behaviour for professional drivers... so i wanted to point it out.
But since I believe in previous rounds you could have also done it by a pm, I don't suppose it would be fair to interperate that rule to the extreme.
I'd also slap deko for not reading his pm's.. I'll do the honours and send the password to Hibex via forum pm and lfsworld pm. It's then up to the race director to decide if he's allowed to race.
