It occurred to me today that there are no national championships within LFS or even within sim racing (that i know of)
In all of my previous hobbies there were regional championships & national championships & I think sim racing should have the same.

This means that one person from each nation will earn the title of National Champion for one year untill he can defend it the next time around.

The closest we have had so far is the World Series. I think it would be great if we could have the British Championships & likewise for other nations. This could even run to the extent of the finals being held at a big car/motorsport show. All we need is racers/organisers/sponsors & we could really push sim racing into the lime light.

Can I have a show of hands & feedback from British Sim Racers to see what the general feeling is about this idea.

The accepted me and some other dutch driver becaus we wanted to qualify for international etm.
But becaus there isnt enough dutch people to do dutch eTM. we asked if we could be in the Uk one becaus you guys needed some more drivers, and the admins accepted that.

Frankly the Dutch have just started their 6th version of the Dutch Championship - LFS.NL (If you can read Dutch, you can find more info here).

So it's not a matter of not being available, it's more a matter of who is taking the lead and would set up such a thing for other countries.

There was an Irish National Championship that an irishman won! But english people did it too

It's a good idea, surely there would be enough interest in this?

Myself and someone else (who shall remain nameless but you may be able to guess) have been giving a little bit of thought to the idea ourselves, actually. I wouldn't be able to run anything on my own, but if someone is willing to co-run it might be quite possible ...

SRP (SimRacingPortugal) organizes a successful national championship as well You just need someone to start it all up...

AFAIK, the spanish national championship is (one of?) the biggest LFS leagues. Just look at the hotlap chart for some combos they have run.

Surely we could get something up & running between us? We just need to come up with a format for the event & create a website or forum for results/promo & what not.
I believe it has a lot of potential.
