Demoleague: Blackwood with XFG/XRG, S2-league GTR-class at Kyoto Oval
Next week we will race at Blackwood in de demoleague with the XFG/XRG and in the S2-league we are racing at Kyoto Oval with the GTR-class. Last sunday we had a very big grid with 20 drivers. Hopefully we will see everybody back on the grid. If you want to join us, register at our site.
Well where do I start? Eehhmm with start nr. 3 I guess… Qualifying was pretty close but it took a while before everybody was done doing his lap. Still, a big grid again. The boys from SR started in front of a total of 23 drivers.
This time the first lap was without to much carnage, everybody understood you can’t win the race in T1…finally… In lap 3 Drke and Postal clipped each other, luckily everybody could avoid Postal’s spinning car. Ghino, Bambo, Wild and Cooltiger where creating a small gap with the rest of the pack, with 5 XRR’s running close together (Drke, Weefelly, Archanodon and Nisco or DutchShogun I think). Behind them were Shaun and Marzman who nearly missed a first major crash in midfield. Behind them where Postal, Revitupetc.etc.etc, Starbert, Aldous, Oakim, Hans, and Mazdarati (what happened Mazda, you where running in top 5) fighting for positions.
Postal and Revitupetc.etc.etc showed you can run next to each other without crashing, there where mixing it up for a lap or six before Postal took them to the bumper of Marzman. After some more crashing was done (bye, bye Shaun…) Postal and Revitupetc.etc.etc found themselves in 6th and 7th. Meanwhile the frontrunners had there own trouble of lapping backmarkers and so it was Bambo with Weefelly leading the race by the second half of the race.
Some people kept there completely written off car on the track at crawling pace, decimating the field in the process. This affected a whole lot of drivers who damaged or crashed their rides sadly.
By lap 25 it was Postal who arrived at the front, passing Weefelly and lining up Bambo. This battle took at least a lap or 15 before Bambo put his car in the wall and had to pit.
Meanwhile Weefelly passed Postal back when Postal hugged the wall after getting a scare of Starbert’s who was stuck in the T2 grass/corner.
Revitupetc.etc.etc and Michalxo closed in on the front and by lap 46 Postal was back on Weefelly’s case. Weefelly then passed backmarker Hans around the outside, but Postal got squeezed between Hans’s car and the wall. This continued for a whole lap before Postal got on the inside of Hans on T1. Unfotunately Hans was unaware and steered to the inside and got a push from Postal, this sent Hans and Bambo into the wall. Michalxo couldn’t avoid the cars and roofed his car, destroying a solid 3th place.
Postal had to do it all over again, reeling in Weefelly, but again Archanodon was not having anything of his blue flag and held him up. Now Weefelly’s gap was enough to keep him in the lead until the checkered flag. Nice work considering he started from 16th place on the grid. Double success because his setup’s finished first and second in the race too.
All in all a very hectic race, with high’s and low’s. Still , we hope to see you guys back next week at South City with the FBM’s.
