Yes that ATI 4670 is very good choice for that price! Huge step from onboard video you have right now.
It's not like you need a quad sli uber high end rig to run this game. My xfx 7600gt runs LFS at a constant 60fps, sometimes dipping to 40. It's sufficient for my 1440*900 monitor with my amd 3700+ running it
get the 8800gt if you can it will smoke that 4670. you would be happier with a 8800gt. i own one and there great for the money.
Yeah, I buy pretty much all my kit from there. Great service. Their returns service is also good and prompt - I had to send back a graphics card as it physically wouldn't fit in my shuttle case. No fuss from them and the money was back in my account within 3 days.
Yeah, i'll back up OcUK too, they may not be the cheapest, but they are great for service.

In your price bracket HD3850 is great value for money.

True Statement. I have one. It's weak.
I had one too, it's very weak. Bought a 3850, huge improvement in games.
4670 for my 22" monitor plays every SIm in 1680X1050@8X AA & 16X AF.

tbh mate my old 7900GT was quite capable of running at 1680x1050 with full AA & AF plus its a lot cheaper.

in fact it is currently FOR SALE - 7900gt £35inc

It's an old card though, I'm wondering about how much life it has left in it. If it were me, I'd go for the a new card, not an old card. But in the end, it all depends on your budget. It would be tough to compare the 7900GT to the 4670. The 7900 was a top of the line card, whereas the 4670 is a mid range card. But mid range cards have improved so dramatically over the years that today's mid range cards are as good as last year's top of the line cards (more or less).
It's ATI time now.
HD4XXX series is very well done, you should be happy with your 4670.
I bought HD4870 (HD3870 before) and I'm happy
Well, at long last I managed to get the.........4670...and boy has it made a difference!

To say the machine has a new lease of life is an understatement! For fun(?), I thought I'd benchmark my machine with 3DMark05. This is for older cards and would be suitable for an ageing nv6150 and have a guess what the 3DMark score was.....667, yes bad.

OK, fitted the 4670 (lost a PCI slot because it's a double height card, but no problem). Installed the latest Catalyst driver and fired up 3DMark again. Any takers....? I couldn't believe it when it showed a score of 11554!!

OK, test 2 - LFS time. Detail at Max, AF at x16 and AA at x8 with 10 AI's on SO1 in front of me and I'm still getting 40-50fps...AND it looks stunning.

So, anyone who has an old card - it's a no-brainer - go out and upgrade today!

I don't know why I didn't do this earlier! Thanks for the all advice - esp. cobra.
You're very welcome, glad to hear you're enjoying that card, and remember a dedicated card is always better than an onboard card, especially if the onboard card says Intel on it.

Also, I had no idea the 4670 was a dual slot card.
Just make sure you keep up with driver updates from ATI, they release a new driver every month with tons of fixes and improvements.
Hmm, well mates. My 8600GT 512mb works very damn well for me. In LFS, fps 80-150. Crysis, 30-50. GTA IV, enough smooth, benchmark @ 34.74fps

Nonclocked Gigabyte Geforce 8600GT 512mb
Running on nVidia 178.24 drivers.

I got old drivers because GTA IV couldnt work with newest/newer ones. Missing textures thing.
