what's the max player amount per server?

I remember Aces High II which allowed 100 players in an arena server, now that was nice!

I thought about mentioning Falcon 4, but as you say it was buggy, and I'm not a fan of downloading userbase updates some years later for games/sims, even if it did sort it out. I loved the original Falcon and Falcon 3 though.

And I loved the REALLY thick manual they used to have

I`ll be having a piece of that too. Been waiting for a decent combat chopper sim for ages. Sadly the last one I played was gunship 2000 all those years ago.

....and yeah, thick manuals were just beautiful. Not the single layer of thin paper stuffed in the dvd case you get now.

Or a PDF on the disc!

Ive got Lock On and Lock On Flaming CLiffs LEGAL! And they both are very nice, flaming cliffs has a cool crash model on the su-25, looking forward for the other good sims

PC sims might be all good and nice, but it seems all the juicy fat manuals went the way of the dodo around the time the amiga, etc died.

You'll be able to play BS in "arcade mode", not that Id know why you would want to , I'm looking forward to 10 minute helo startup procedures wooohoo

Personally I'd love to master LOMAC in full sim mode (I do fly with full flight model ), but I only ever use Sidewinders and Maverick missiles because there the only weapons systems i've had the time to master!

As for the iL2 Website, it hasn't been updated for about a year, if you want info its best to go onto the forum and look at the 'ready room' section (if its still there ).

Trust me, you might want to try the FreeFalcon mod, or for that matter Open Falcon or Allied Force: the last one is sold as a complete package, while the other two are to be installed over an original Falcon 4.0 install. All are VASTLY improved over the original and are stable, especially FF and AF.
If you have a spare F4 CD, try it.

See. that`s the problem with F4. It was shit when it came out and only got fixed a lot later, by a lot of different people with different releases rather than a single effort.

That`s why I never got into it after first trying it then uninstalling

Might give it another shot sometime, when I`ve got the time to look right into it to see what needs.

Not yet, just the 1c forum for the moment. But at a recent gamesshow (Leipzig? not sure) Oleg did mention a specific SOW website was in the works and would be up "soon".

I'd guesstimate the release to be Q4 2009, but it could be Q1 2009 or delayed into 2010. As they say... good things come to those who wait

The latest news on 1c forums are that the specs will be released around May 2009, and the release will follow some months after...I know I know! I don't know which is worst, Lfs or Storm of war!I've been watching this for 2 years...

I only really use it for flight sims, but it works in most driving games too, including LFS and GTR.

Falcon 4 is easily the best Jet Fighter sim out there, especially if realism is your bag (just try landing the thing :tilt.

You should be able to pick up a cd of Allied Force on ebay for a few quid. And whilst the graphics arn't up with more modern games, the flight characteristics have never been beaten (as yet). I'm actually surprised some 'names' in here talk of LOMAC in such revered tones, I found it really arcady tbh.

This new Heli sim thing looks interesting, it's about time someone made one with real world flight modelling. Looks good too

I'm confused; is it out, and what would i need to run it?
