Hi Scawen, I bought a XBox 360 Controller yesterday. It uses the XInput API instead of DirectInput. I don´t think it would be a big deal to implement it. I don´t know how many controllers there are which uses only this API or both of them.
Here is a nice page from Microsoft showing how both can work together: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=4141
I know there was an old thread here: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=4141 And please don´t spam this thread with messages like there is an unoffical driver XBCD. I know it and use it at the moment. But I don't want to use unofficial drivers there are everytime some sort of problems.
So please Scawen answer if you decide to implement it or not. For me the XBox Controller is the only one that can really been used for racing because of the analog wings. There are only a few working on Windows and most of them are crap.
I don´t have the place for a big wheel and also I don´t want to have one.
EDIT:
To be more exact. The gamepad works, so maybe LFS has XInput support. The only problem is ForceFeedback/ Rumble Effect which doesn´t work. Maybe thats the only thing XInput does I didn´t look at it exactly.
