FOTA to consider refuelling ban

Quote from tinvek :so f1 has become a series of 3 or occasionally 4 sprint races connected by refueling stops with the drivers never having to cope with heavy cars and having no respite for 2 hours or 200 miles ( this is another thing that anoys me, the regs state an F1 race should be 200 miles or 2 hours which ever comes first but these days the races despite finishing inside 2 hours are often shorter than the 200 mile mark )

Of course shorter than 200 miles, since the max is 190 miles (305 km).
In my opinion, if they were to ban mid race refueling, they would probably make a regulation saying that the cars fuel tank has to be big enough to last for a full race distance (which may be altered).

why do you need such rule? surely the teams won't build a tank so small they can't finish the race.
actually, am i the only one loving the current system?
like in Singapore where Trulli was 2sec slower than the cars behind him.
and Rosberg was deperately trying to get pass him.
the whole pitstop stragtegy mixes things up a bit.

and it amazes me how much they can do in a 6sec pitstop.
and its the perfect example of working as a team.

Chances are, if they weren't to add the rule, the teams would ask for shorter races.

Infact, since this is the Formula One TEAMS association, i guess they are trying to get shorter races....
Why would the teams want shorter races? That equals less TV time so F1 would be worse value for money for their sponsors.

Screen time is a very small part of sponsorship packages. Lets be honest, has anyone ever been swayed by a logo on a car, that's just part of the deal - the PR stuff is what makes the money flow.
