RS50's are expensive bikes, I thinkt he RS looks a lot better then the DNA though, general preference. The DNA's parts are most likely a lot cheaper though, the Derbi's look nice though aswell, dont like the TZR's that much.
The price I said is ones I have seen going for, I think GT Motorcycles sell them at £2,500 to £3,000 I think, I wouldn't pay that anyway, I wouldn't buy one brand new just for the sake of a year anyway.
I will be buying a second hand one, around 53 plate to 55 plate, not to expensive. There was a 98 RS50 on ebay which just had a new race engine put in for £650, I was thinking about it but you dont know how much the parts would cost for it if something needs replacing, may just get a near standard RS50 for the year, only needs to get me from A to B, cant stand scooters though so will deffently be getting a RS. I do like the RS2 Matrix's but they seem to be a little of the pricey side of things.
Ahh ive just rebuilt my little speedfight, had a 70cc engine put in and de-restricted was tempted by the 100cc but the 70cc was real cheap and fast enough seen as im getting rid pretty soon. Sam... ugh i can't even be arsed lol
My mate has done something similar with his Speedfight 2, but he went for the 100cc engine and has got a big bore kit and a few other mods, it's quick.
You, i don't understand why you'd want to pay for a replica of hamilton's helmet. 1. your on a scooter 2. if your going to pay for it to be sprayed you could make your own design and not look like a tool. When i was still at school youd never catch me spending £500 on a helmet let alone one that will make you look a twat.
Buy a car. Stop arseing about with your 60mph de-restricted. My car can do 85mph in 3rd gear. Soon, it will be able to do more.
Sam - Get a plain skid lid. Also, you don't work so I suggest you actually pass your CBT, get a bike and get all the gear before you think of chaving your bike up.
I will most likely buy my bike already de-restricted with exhaust, I got my mum to pay for my CBT so that wont come out of my pocket, well about £40 will as I agreed I will pay abit of it. I will most likely either get a plain black shoei or the red and black shoei's I like, they go well with the bike.
I will be getting a car, but I am just getting the bike to get me around without having to use the bus even though it is free for me anyway. I will save up for the car whilst I have my bike as I will be working and when I sell my bike if my Dad is kind enough he will give me some or all of it so I can spend it on my car. The reason I said if he will give me the money is because he is buying it
And you expect to throw between £10k and £20k at a car to chav it up, when at this age you expect your Mum and Dad to pay for it. You are in for a big shock when you actually drive, your car will be as standard as the day it left the factory.
You clearly have a small amount of bike knowledge, this isn't a piss take, but you can't even ride a push bike properly. How do you think you will fair on a 60mph crotch 'rocket'??
I'll say it now so I don't have to say it in 6 months time.
I can ride a bike, I used to do motorcross and most of the races I entered I one, I can ride a bike. When one of you crash a car I will say you cant drive. I can ride a bike everyone has accidents and I dont care about your stupid little immature comments you have to make. GROW UP!!
I came off mine yesterday, was distracted by some girl with huge tits walking the other way, decided to rev while braking to make it sound like i had gears so it wasn't so pathetic. ANYWAY my rear wheel locked up as i went over the dreaded white lines and i crash to the floor turn around and the girl didn't even notice i think if she saw me it would be best to play dead and get some mouth to mouth but no joy. big scrape down the side of the bike and a bruised ego
The evil white lines, my dad dropped his old 250cc Honda on a white line, it was winter and he was slowing down from 40mph for a roundabout and a women squeezed him to the curb, needless the say the moment he touched the white line he went down the road, and put holes in both knees down to the bone.
Sorry mate, I disagree. I can only see this ending in tears. Okay, bikes are fairly easy to ride, but we know his history. Okay, he used to race in motorcross and he 'one' a lot. Move over Rossi. His attitude is completely wrong. He isn't stupid, but just not mature enough to be allowed on our roads, I feel. I see enough dickheads on the road. Example: I was driving home to Devon from Nottingham the other weekend. I was in the middle lane of the motorway, overtaking some traffic. A boy in a Corsa undertook me, slammed on his brakes behind the vehicle I was overtaking, went to go onto the hard shoulder to overtake, decided not to and cut me up. When I glared at him, his mate in the passenger seat does down his window, leans out and start banging on mine.
There is enough stupidity on the road, enough uneducated drivers, enough dead 17 year olds. I really don't want Sam to be another number, no matter how I much I think he is a clown, I don't wish that on anyone.
The road is a very dangerous place. I am not making an immature comment, or atleast I don't mean this as a piss take of Sam, but do you really trust someone with a machine capable of 60mph, the same boy who rode his bike into a sign and sued the council for putting the sign in the wrong place?! It's because of people like Sam, I pay a crazy amount of insurance etc. What happens to the poor soul who may hit Sam when he is riding his bike as silly speeds? I can only imagine it won't be great for them, they won't be able to live with themselves for killing a poor young teenager.
This isn't really directed at Sam, but the amount of silly drivers on the road, that Sam will one day fall into.
Ok, there is some nice comments in there. Sorry about the spelling 'one' I had a teacher in school trying to look at what I was typing so I was rushing, I meant won, I wished I stayed at it. I am not going into the sign and we are no longer making a claim, it was wet leaves and a stone which must of been buried in the leaves which caused me to come off, but let's not go into that again, keep on topic.
I am by no means going to be a mupit on the road, my mate said he cant wait to get a car and tune the engine and drive fast, I am trying to get it into his head that he cant, there are other roads users and pedestrians around. I haven't said I will drive at stupid speeds, I will keep near the speed limit, for example. 30mph zone and do about 35 because no one sticks right to the speed limit, they always go a little faster. I also cant stand people who drive like mupits on the motorway, they try to drive fast but they cant drive well when driving fast.
I wont speed on the bike, I am not stupid. My Dad has even said if I find out or see you riding like a mupit the bike will be taken off me, but that wont happen as I will ride properly and respect other road users.
I used to do Motorcross as well. Yet when I first went to my CBT course, it's amazing how much you don't actually 'know', and it's some of the best advice you can listen to....
Shows how much you know.
In a 30mph zone, the limit is 30. Not 35. Not 32. 30.
Same for 40, 50, National, and Motorways.
Although there are times where the limits need to be adhered to less (i.e some nice twisty roads with a 60mph limit that can be happily taken at 75+, so you'd do around 70..)
But the two speed limits I try to TOTALY stick to, and often go 1 or 2 mph slower than are the 30 and 40mph limits. They're low for a reason.
