Yeah, if you wanted to do this properly you should have made a nomination thread and then started a poll with the 10 bands that got the most nominations.

Edit: PantEra and Led ZeppElin are wrong, too.

This happened on the 'Best Guitarist' thread. A poll got put up and missed out a lot of the greats.

Out of the list on here, i'd say Megadeth. But my favourite band of all time is Metallica.

Outworld probably have one of the best guitarists, Rusty Cooley.

Who influenced music the most, again from that list, Zeppelin probably.

Very very weird and pointless poll options. You seem to have put only the bands you like in there. Also they all seem to rock bands. There are other music styles out there too you know. And come on... Outworld? I´ve never heard of them in my life and that alone means they couldn´t be the best group ever.

Rush IS the best (imo). Hands down.

I liked them enough, to learn to play an instrument, so I could be in a Rush Tribute Band...

Then Rush inspired us, the (ex)Tribute Band to write our own stuff.

Yeah, Jimi Hendrix is an awesome band.

LZ beat Queen because LZ were one of the bands that invented hard rock/ heavy metal, but they were something a bit more sophisticated and clever than simply Metal bands.

Jimi may not have been a band, but he did have the Jimi Hendrix Expierience with Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell.

Hmm, past their best, but a couple of their albums are cracking stuff.

Also, where is Cream, The Smiths, Deep Purple, Dire Straits and Radiohead (before 2000 only!).

Overall, there are so many different kinds of muisc (Rock music in particular), that you can only say which band is best of their genre, there aren't really any overall greats (but LZ are close).

Going on album sales it would be the Beatles, with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club still the biggest selling album of all time.

Or perhaps U2 (Although they've lost the plot now, especially Bono), their Zoo TV tour in the early 90's was massive, the biggest ever I think.
