Rxo
why shouldnt we have an rxo? it wouls be like the fxo(same body possibly) but rear wheel drive (hence the rxo) and would maybe have a n/a engine, something like a 3 litre inline 6 to semi emulate the bmw 330

just wanted to see what people thought of the idea
It would be great to see another RWD in LFS. And that BMW engine sounds good too

Would be good to have a big, european-styled saloon instead of the japanese monstrosities of the TBO class.

Nice one! I'll have to remember that

Using Tweak only shows us how nice it'd be to have this in the game proper. The only problem is that it wouldn't fit into any classes, being naturally aspirated. Unless, of course, it was made more powerful in order to go into LRF? Then you'd have the rear-engined FZ50, mid-engined RaceAbout, front-engined RXO, and the LX6 - whilst also front-engined and naturally aspirated, like the RXO would be - is still pretty different, on account of weighing buggerall

Or maybe it could be made competitive with the LX4? That needs something to race against

Sam
yh matching it with the lx4 would be good, that could be done using engine size, i said 3l cos thats thefirst one that came to mind

As said before, a big, heavy 4d RWD saloon would be nice, i.e. a 3L, 300HP V6...
a big +1 ! would be cool if we had a BWM-ish car
The FXO doesn't look like it would be a RWD vehicle. The body is shaped like that of a FWD vehicle. RWD vehicles are shaped differently.

I'd like to see this in LFS:

1.9L, 124HP lol
#9 - RS1T
that would basically be a longer and heavier xfg
Quote from RS1T :that would basically be a longer and heavier xfg

Yes, basically 150kg heavier, and 9 more peak HP. Except the peak HP on the car that I posted is at 5600RPM whereas the peak HP on the XFG is at 7000RPM. And, 122ft.lb of torque at 4800RPM compared with 96ft.lb@5400RPM of the XFG. It's coefficient of drag is 0.318, but I have no idea of the XFG's coefficient of drag.
Can I ask why you've selected this pristigious model to be in LFS?

Does strike me as something rather pointless, it's just like an XRG, only lower-revving and probably a bit slower. The RXO would have to look different to the FXO anyway, if only so you could tell the difference between them, so I suppose the FXO "not looking RWD" (and I can sorta see your point there) isn't much of an issue.

If it's going to be paired with the LX4, it might as well be its exact opposite, to keep things interesting - ie, big, heavy and powerful - like the FZ50 and the LX6 are now.

Because it's the kind of car that I drive. It's just as worthless of a suggestion as suggesting that the FXO have a RWD version called the RXO.

e34 m5 i love those things!
Exactly. just like the FZ5 is a bit Porsche here, a bit Ferrari there, we shold have something that's a bit BMW/Merc/Audi. Nothing specific (although that *would* be awesome) but just something big, fairly powerful, RWD and European. Possibly after that something big, fairly powerful, RWD and American to complement it.
The FZ is hardly anything but a Porsche as soon as you're in the driver's seat. It would arguably be something else if it had something else than a flat-6 in the rear.

European or american, there's a need for a big meaty road going engine in LFS. So far we mostly have high-strung 4-bangers. Not enough diversity.

Thought so, that's why I decided against tearing it apart

I think Crashgate was talking more about the styling of the FZ50 when he mentioned its Ferrariness, by the way, just as we're on about how the "new" car should be designed. I'm all for moulding together new BMW/Audi/Mercedes parts, but it could be interesting to see what happens, given their diversifying designs these days

Sam
great idea!
if we talk about "lfs style" cars,i made a safety car, modified from an alfa race car. i thought it would be cool for endu races where we use SC
i didnt even touch 3d max in months now

I think that would require some working time for Scawen to have a fully working safety car. The current AI's top speed is maybe fast enough to play the safety car's role (!), but there would be probably some "when to come on the track and when to go off the track" issues.

First, it would be totally ridiculous, as most races that aren't league races would be red flagged after the first corner. Besides, assuming the first corner is passed through correctly, there's probably enough SC causing crashes in that kind of races to cause a SC per lap, which is ridiculous. So we're definitely talking about a league race only option here, and that's a lot of time from Scawen to work on a feature that, while very interesting, would be scarcely used.

Not only there's the AI issue, but a working safety car would mean some safety car lights, and the current engine as it is doesn't do that very well (or not at all considering 'lit lights' are really just 'lit textures').

LOL! And us cruisers will turn that into a cop car with a few skins and texture edits.

well thats not really true. check lfs strobe,or chudy_2001 videos on youtube, working lights are possible. But yes it might be useful only on endu races, where we actually do use SC when flystart, etc. Sure it would take time to make a car like this, but i'd like that

oh im sure about that, would be fun anywhere lol, sorry for dp
yea. chasing noobs with real strobes hah
RXO sounds good.
New car should be even with the FZ5 so they have a new class..

Man, this topic is making me feel smaller
