I race with wind in the LFS-Spain leagues and I can tell you wind EFFECTS downforce cars. For example, FO8 is quite impossible to drive with hard wind (+40 kph). So you can loose all your downforce in a corner and have a big crash.
Definetly, wind IS USED! Maybe not on regular servers, but in league servers as LFS-Spain leagues. Same for different skies.

That is a real backward step for me.
I would really like the ability to retain best laps and the dates when they were made on any track I went to.
This is something that so many car racing composers ignore these days but for me, (yes I know it's an online simulator,..etc..etc..) .but I do a fair bit of single player action and hot laps and would really appreciate it.
I would love to see full clutch support, with stalls, grinding etc. maybe FF Shifter built into the sim with clutch support. would be sweet. I guess this could be possible for S2 though.
I agree. As much as I want it, I don't see it being used much outside of leagues and drift servers(to lessen grip and keep the tires cooler). With rain it'll be the same situation as when people are too focused on their hotlaps and pbs to allow wind. Even some leagues now don't like using wind.
weather should be forcasted for an entire day. No changing of the weather by admins. Just plain rain for a day. No weather change at restarts. This beats my idea for setting the weather change for a certain lap by a long shot.
It would be awesome if they would put all these things in LFS, then i would even love lfs more than i already do! (almost not possible LOL)
I imagine verry nice functions on the radio, selectable display color, custom playlist with Radiostations wich you ofcorse can listen true streaming, radio text system too working, and a iPod function so you can listen to your own MP3's, adjustable volume with keyboard buttons (or other devices),Turn on/off button too, and of course that if you put it loud enough you can hear it outside the car but with less volume if you know what i mean, and of course i almost forgot : NO RADIO IN GTR's ONLY IN ROADCARS. Working wipers WITH adjustable speed (4 speeds, with keyboard buttons or other) would be nice too (with uhm don't know how to say in english, a function so it sprays soap on the window) , IF they put rain/snow/thunder ingame too Working window would be funny too, with a manual thing for the cheap cars (UF1,XFG,XRG,LX4/6) so you see the guy spinning that thing hard to open it(LOL), and electrical onces in the more expensive cars(All the other roadcars). And ofcourse no working windows in gtr's.

If there's a server option like non-raceprepared cars...(as in everybody same setup, fuel etc.)
Then airbags in road cars would be realistic...

snow is a must have but dry/grip in some sections of the track, i.e in the lane that gets used the most.
If only I could make room for another jaffa cake every time i saw one of these posts i would win the JCC by ALOT. There is no point in making a drift tire right now as most of the concerns are on improving the physics and other things. The majority of the community is also more for racing tire improvements then making a new one.
i would like to see the diffrent tire brands have diffrent effects, woukd go with the weather good aswell, like if its dry the Evostar tires would be better but in the wet the Cromo's would be better
@Mark: That's already planned and will most propably come in one of the next incompatible patches (thus not patch V, but perhaps in patch W).
Typical differences would be slightly better endurance, but worse traction. Or slightly less heat production but worse endurance. There are many things imaginable.
S3 was mentioned to focus on environmental things. So these are my favorites:
not plain whether - thus it is not only dynamic (changes in time) but also changes a lot in quantity (from ie. drizzle to storm)
i hope from sim devoted devs to model proper track drying and getting filled with water locally. btw - that would also give proper gravel and sand movement as they can be treated as liquids when moving.
and i hope no spliting parts from damage as long as they wont be objects with own physiscs, like racked tires etc. cos its most annoying thing the damaged parts moving in kind of cartoon motion everytime.
@r4aptor: yeah, agreed on race behaviour but this Improvement suggestion doest not regard S3. its just: HIT THE BRAKES JUST WHEN YOU STOP SPINNING !!!

Someone said about car parts left on the track that could perhaps disappear when no-one can see them? Well how about a person running onto the track to collect them? They could have ragdoll physics and everything so you could plough right into them. Would destroy a hot lap time i guess but it would be fun.

Parts falling off should be behind nonvisible damage (oil, cooling, engine damage, etc.) on the list. These wouldn't affect performance while parts on the track would.
If there was an option where we could set if we wanted to see through the helmet's visor (literally) or not would be nice.
