A true race car = high performance car with a wing to provide downforce
A rice car = usually a slow car built for normal road use with silly wings and stickers for the n(r)ice looks

hmm I am a bit confused now.

People have posted "ricer" pictures, but these are clearly "Customised" cars. There is a major difference between the 2.

Call me sterotypical, but ricer I beleive is cars lowered, modded, with NOS, Neon Lights, Sound Systems better than Night Clubs and men showing them off as an extention to there you know what.

Customised cars, as people that do it out of passion, not for fashion

That Supra is totally rice. Absolutely none of the body kit will aid performance, and I bet most of the engine mods are shiny cam covers, blue hoses and a loud turbo valve, along with a huge performance sapping exhaust...

that supra has real mods.. it was made for the movie

keep in mind .. that isnt rice for its AGE that movie was made when... '01 .. ya back in those days, back when tuner cars were starting to make a move, and now we dont think those are to great looking.. watch the movie and you'll understand what i mean, that supra is a cool supra

Which move? Too fast too pointless, or whatever it was called. I'd rather have my testicles roasted over an open fire than watch that. The trailers were enough to know that possibly the only realistic thing in the movie is the trees in the background...

If you're not referring to that movie then please explain because as far as I was aware this was a thread about ricers not films.

And that supra isn't cool in the slightest. The owner will probably get more burberry youth attention now, but it's rice all the way baby!

im just using the movie to show you .. what was back in early 2000 when the word Tuner was pretty much born, there hadent been (barely) tuning before y2k, and tuning that was before 2000 .. was really just engine swapping and stuff like that, body kits didnt really make an outbreak until 2000, thats why i suggest you watch F&F, because you can see what it looked like back then.. now it looks retarded.. back then it was cool

The FnF cars are and arent rice at the same time IMO. I mean at least they do have some real engine modification and not just a 1.1 fiesta. But they do have stupid things like the BOV (yes they are stupid) the big gay wings (supras look good de spoilered) body kits etc which are rice IMO.

At tristan: I agree the FnF kits dont do anything to aid performance, but some do. I mean if and aftermarket turbo is fitted with an intercooler then that would need to be mounted etc so on some cars surely kits are needed so that intercooler and radiator have enough air flow. Although the subtle kits always look the best.
