I mostly use the adverts to go to the toilet or buy popcorn etc. When i get back the adverts are mostly over and they play trailers of upcoming movies, which i mostly enjoy.
Wow, thankfully my local cinema usually doesn't show more than 10-15 minutes of ads, never seen more than 20. It's an independent cinema though. I think part of the reason is so that you use up most of your popcorn and drink and have to go out and get more
i wont go to the cinema anymore, havent for years. Prices have doubled since the last time i went, and they're Nazis about people bringing in their own food. I reckon a decent home cinema setup is much more enjoyable if you can save up for it. And with 720p/1080p more easily available now, movies look awesome even when you strech them over the wall.
On Facebook (I think) there is a clan about how Kinepolis (I think that's an international one), is way too expensive. It's been on the news and they say their price is valid, and looking at inflation and stuff, their price actually didn't change.
But I think A LOT of theatre visitors are young people which don't work, they live on their allowance, and my allowance doesn't get updated with inflation, so it just doesn't work that way.
I do have to admit, Kinepolis charge 8,50 for some movies, it used to be 5,50. There is a different theatre I visit regularly, and over there it's still 5,50, on Tuesdays even 4,50. But... Image quality is worse, sound quality too, and they don't have nachos.
