It would have been me you hit, I appreciate you coming forth with an apology at the very least you didn't stay hidden. I was attempting the 12hrs alone as a personal challenge to myself. I always leave the door open and try giving faster cars room when I know they can make a move. I do not think your move to hit me was intentional, but I do feel it could have been avoided if you would have been on the brakes. Maybe you just tried pushing too hard into the opening, but whatever happened its racing. Not like I went to a hospital, just wasted some time in preparation and getting the day off from work. I would like to say thanks for the apology though.
Some incredibly reckless driving by certain GTR cars yesterday.
Especially LTU/CD/First.
Just 2 examples taken randomly from my stint:
First Kubinji, 3h 43min into the race, Oval Turn 1.
First Kubinji, 3h 57min 43s, left hander into the infield.
What was that supposed to be?
Some guys don´t seem to notice, that a slower car driven at the limit can´t always give way asap and change line in a fraction of a second.
I had many incidents especially inside the right/left exiting the infield.
There is only one line - surprising, isn´t it?!
Guys, remember: 12 hours! No hotlapping contest.
Desire of patience. Really.
Apart from that it was a really nice experience.
Though Ky Long woud´ve been my favourite track choice
What's the problem with that?
We didn't touch and I knew what I was doing...
1st case: I thought those XFR-guys would stay on the 2nd line to let me pass in the inner line but they went to that line right when I was coming so there weren't many options for me... To avoid a incident I slipped through the space.
2nd case: I thought he'd brake straight on that line to leave me enough space but he just started turning into that corner right in the moment I was close behind him. I know I made a mistake and I apologized for that in the BC-forum during the race...
I drove the F1RST-BC car aswell yesterday, and didnt have many problems with backmarkers but,
Do understand that for us its just as hard as you we push also as hard as we can and do wanto pass you guys as fast as we can.
I had a few times yesterday that it looked like someone gives space and then suddenly smacks the door,
with 50kph diference you cant expect us to brake intime for that if it happens last moment.
Ofcourse we somtimes do a risky outside overtaking aswell,
but if then some fxo starts sliding and his back comes infront of my car sry but i cant help that.
And about there is even one line, there isnt there is one fast line, but if you guys use the mirros well you
can see if we go into the gap and you can give us a little space.
EDIT: ive looked at he incident on the oval you notice, he didnt even toutch a car what is wrong with that i realy dont understand your point there :S
EDIT2: Now ive also seen the second incident, patrick might hit him at his rear but normaly a car turns in so much later there.
Patrick just does his normal under braking overtaking move and he suddenly comes to the left, just a unlucky match of actions from my point of vieuw
Well, concerning the second incident:
Usually, in order to lap the slower car I´d enter the corner from the inside to prevent exactly those situations - and not on the racing line as in this case.
The FXO was simply shot off without a reason.
Remember: The driver of the faster car lapping a slower car has to make sure he won´t hit anyone. I know it´s not easy for the faster cars, too. But simply taking a crash into account doesn´t help anyone
Well i just mean that in a 12 hour race things like this just happen, we aint driving as granny's we all wanto be fast so we are pushing and sadly a situation like this isnt always avoideble
U want to be faster then on hl?....that is why u crash into someones rear end...breaking late to still get to the racing line RESERVED FOR THIS RACE ONLY FOR THE SLOWER CARS...U PASS WHERE U KNOW TO PASS....and u did not take time to pay some respect for us driving this FXO turtles.I did not block enyone and it is like "poor us drivers driving over 300 km/h we can't make a pb on 12h race with endu sets" and we have to look over to both sides and main mirror all the time and race a 20% slower because we have to look to make space for u not to embarres yourself? IT IS AN ENDURANCE RACE ....take some time and wach LEMAN 24 hours and learn.
Minor crashes,no one ever turned another driver on the roof!!!
There were a bunch of world class drivers and some respected us,others did not...no penaltyes for crashers...so ...C U round...
Dont twist my words that i wanto be faster then on a hotlap, its just we wanto be as fast as possible with the endu set. And if your talking to me about that accident i wasnt the driver at that point but did look at it. and the fxo was you? turns in very early and patrick was just on the normal line to catch you under braking.
Just a last thought before hoping for another Endu race with hopefully less incidents ^^ :
And Rudy, I didn´t mean you were a crasher or smthg like that. I just took some random incidents. There were other drivers driving much less careful
So, now we have the results of this really exciting race. Some things were more than thrilling. Especially the LX6 racers and teams '3R', 'BK'R' have had a neck to neck race. A decision by a few seconds over this distance.
How we ended up 5th I'll never know. Without that disconnect and the 3 wiepouts we would have been right up there, we seemed to be flying in the last 7 hours.
Once again congratulations to O.R.T. See you in the 24 hours :P Still only the two of you?
