Well acctually i liked underground.
I liked all of the games up to carbon.
Although i disliked the cops in most wanted and carbon but it was still fun to pulverise them.
But then pro street was just crap. And this game looks to be a bunch of crap. The graphics dont look that good :/ neither do the car models or anything at all!
no, you should have said "I've missed only the only decent NFS in the past 8 years"
Allright on to my review... : it's crap... or if you'd like me to be more precise about my reasoning - it's crap since it is ALL fkd up...
Seriously, in Pro Street was a glimpse of light on all NFS series and I thought it could actually go uphill in the future...yeah right
1. Storyline - many people say "it drags you in and doesn't let go"... EXCUSE ME, if you don't see the "What'shername from the police is going to turn on you, and after you deal with her this other chick that drives a Shelby GT500 will become your girlfriend" plot going at the time you take down the first gang or earlier... well... I won't call you names, but trust me - this is as predictable as it ever gets. The cutscenes are also quite poorly acted, but I've seen worse
2. Physics (Even in arcade those are important) - those are utter shite, even MW got this one beaten. This is more like Wipeout XL, cars resemble themselves visually, but actually underneath they are grounded spaceships that have tires that grip you to the asphalt with their magical powers...
3. New race modes... well... there aren't any... and Highway Battle is just "outrun" from NFS:U with tons of traffic... Add to that a 400+ kph car that is no use to you since all opponents got catch up function and you got yourself a gamble instead of a racing experience...
4. Game optimisation - excuse me but that thing is slow. I can run Pro Street at 1280x1024 with everything on at max except AA and AF smoothly, while this struggles to give 25 fps WITH NO way of increasing the framerate even if I go to minimal settings in 800x600... and to be honest I prefer Pro Street picture over Undercover
Overall - I didn't bother even playing it for over than 2 hours. The game is returned to the shop and exchanged for Mass Effect (at least I know that one is good). I had no idea that you can Fk every aspect of the game THAT BADLY... well... there was Street Legal Redline... but it's in a league of it's own...
Edit : the final nail in it's coffin was : I was cruising at over 300 kph on a highway and suddenly 3 police SUVs passed me doing at LEAST 350 and then started boxing me in.
No i meant the shitty physics with the cops.
I liked the cops, and liked ramming the shit out of them. But itd be nice with some physics? Or some damage. So you see the cop cars start to smash up. Or if you T-bone them fast enough they fly off over your car XD
I hated the fact it felt like it was just two boxes hitting each other.
OK..it's crap...but its fun and addictive crap..it does have that "just one more race before shutdown" feel...which means I have played it for 8 hours out of the last 36...(sad git!)
I could find about 50 faults with it if I bothered, but it's just too much fun to go nitpicking. The takedown missions are good...you get to ram other cars without any obvious penalty or hurt to yourself...(and then its just like T1 on any LFS track!)
Finally aced that game! I don't want to put many big spoilers away, but I think it is somewhere along the lines of Most Wanted. Something that was a bit of a twist.
I was bored, so I decided to create custom cars online. There are loads I have, but here are my faves.
They look bad and killed the FPS. I had to turn them off completely and I have fairly reasonable system. e8400 DualCore + 9600GT 512mb + 2GbRam
It's selling well for consoles, so I doubt they will patch it for PC. EA don't give a hoot about PC and this release proves it. It's not really completed TBH.
