XRT - Change the diff settings? (Grip)
Well I've been playing LFS for a couple years just as a nice single player sim, but I've been having a little trouble with my XRT. My setup seems very stable and workable while driving, but I'm currently using a Viscous LSD at 3 NM/radian and the performance over uneven road surfaces (read: tapping the bumpstrip) is really starting to get annoying. I'd like to switch to a clutch-pack, but I fear the engagement is too harsh for my driving style and I can't get it set to where I don't have to fight oversteer.

In any case, I'm using the mouse for steering and keyboard for shifting duty, autoclutch off and smooth engagements only. I can manage a 2:55 on Kyoto GP (just winged it for a rough idea of my speed), I know it's not extremely quick, but I'd like to pick a few MPH up on corner exit without having either an open diff style spin or smoking the inside rear. (which used to happen quite a bit on 2 nms/radian viscous)

Also any other suggestions are more than welcomed! :eclipseeh

Thanks in advance. (setup attached)

try a locked diff. It may give your tyres a shorter life but should make the car handle better.
Locked diff and better handling in the same sentence? People may well have discovered that locked diffs are faster in LFS (for whatever reason) but I've never found a set with a locked diff that handled in a way I could like. Seeing as it's also as far removed from an open diff as you can get I wouldn't be too hopeful about having success using it, but of course there is no reason to try - you never know.
Locked diff is mainly for drifting in the RL.

Try 60-80% locking under power and 35% locking on coast for balanced handling.
Thanks I'll try those settings! I was fiddling around with the locked diff but it does handle similarly to a real life locked and that's way too much oversteer than I feel comfortable with on the mouse.
