Hi
how can i understand the car that im looking in replay is made by LFS TweaK or its original car? i want to understand wich one is original and wich one is unofficial ( when i'm looking replay or from spr file )
Thanks
yes but somtimes we want to get replay from friends, that we don't know realy is it original or no, a lotof thing like sound, speed,... may like original but its not original in fact, is there any other way to find different between teak version and original? or only from car?
AFAIK the only way to discern between original and tweaked replay is to watch it. If weird things happen, like the driver steering too early and crashing, driving against the wall, etc, then you see that the car the driver was driving obviously behaves differently than the original.
Atleast that was how it worked with earlier versions, maybe you get an OOS (out of sync) error nowadays.
It can be quite time consuming since you need to know where all the variables moved in memory. I'm assuming Fonnybone is quite adapt at searching, but you still have to assume every single variable moved at least a bit.
Is there? I've checked Fonny's Tweak thread and can see no mention of LFSTweak being released for patch T
Edit (due to post below): There isn't one. To make LFSTweak work I believe you still need patch Q. Fonny might release a T version, but it might not be something he's working on right now, it could be weeks or months before we get anything. Also if he feels that LFS might get a another patch soon (which isn't unlikely but isn't definite either) then he will probably choose to wait.
Why don't the developers work hand in hand with the tweak developer?
I mean, because the tweak won't work online where is the problem?
This would guarantee that the 2 programs work fine together and they could save a lot of time and work. All they have to do is to exchange were the variables have moved. Perhaps so they can also include a few new features.
I have a lot of fun playing around with the physics in the "car park" track or on the drag strip.
Please help to release a new LFSTweak for S2 Patch T.
As nice as LFSTweak is for fooling around, I really don't see why it's needed this fast, considering we have to totally adapt to the new physics first anyways. Besides that, IMO LFSTweak shouldn't be available for demo users at all. Cheap pricks
Oh, i don't know that. But when the devs work hand in hand they could easy check in LFS if the tweak programm is running and disable the multiplayer mode.
Sure, i understand your opinion.
But the reasons why i love LFS are the superb physics / racing wheel support, online mode and !! (on older versions) you can tweak the cars with turbos, bigger displacement etc and take them for a spin.
I spend nearly the same time racing online as i spend with tweaking and driving the cars on the test tracks.
I am also a programmer, not so specialised like a game programmer, but i think there are only a few things that must be done when they make a "official" tweaker. The have already a physics system and its based on fuctions, events and variables. Allow the change of variables through the tweak tool, without manipulating them manually in the memory.
As you can see, i am a licenced user. I bought S1 and i bought S2.
And one reason for that was LFSTweak.
Surely this is a very easy thing to do, the question is more if the devs really WANT that. AFAIK they were already very sceptical when it came to allowing LFSTweak alltogether, and even then the mistake happend that Tweak-ed Hotlaps were valid (although easily identifyable). Generally speaking, the devs tolerate LFSTweak, but they will definitely not do extra work to help it out.
if you think its so easy, you do it!
? i always find it annoting when a demo user request something, as i always think "you have 3 cars and 5 tracks, yet you want new ones without experiencign all the ones in S2" also, i find that demo users seem to (i must point out that this is SOME, as some are valuable members of our community, like wheel4hummer) think that they deserve some new car for the demo as there havent been any updates when they already get an INCREDIBLE demo (heck, its got 13 more combos than most Demos!)
..they ... do lol (or atleast im pretty sure they do, i remember fonnybone saying something like that)
@rx7skyline (.. strange name.. what queer words to put together)
um.. ya.. if you want so many different cars.. how about you either 1, buy the game, or 2,... buy GT4 or some other game with tons of cars to choose from
or 3, act normal and give people time, because... most people here have jobs, and their lives to attend to
Yes, its a general question, but i know many (licenced) users using the LFSTweak, my opinion is to completly disallow all hotlaping / online racing etc when the lfstweak programm is running. Everything else is ok.
When the lfstweak devs "may have access" to the games physics interface they could easy rewrite their program that it must not be updated everytime an new patch for lfs comes out.
Surely i understand the lfs devs to be sceptical, i understand the lfs tweak dev not to make lfs tweak work for every little patch. But its a little frustrating playing all the time with lfstweak, a new patch comes out and -bang- no more lfstweak. On the other side you can say, dont update your lfs - ok, then you must decide between the updates or a tweakable version.... not good ;-)
