You do go slower but like I said it's at the discretion of the pilot. It depends on how you do the approach and what type of landing you are doing. I'm speaking general aviation side of it, not the heavies.
Flaps on landing are purely optional and at discretion of the pilot. 0 Flaps landings are always more fun, you come in much lower and much faster, quite exciting really. Flaps are only needed if you want to steepen your decent and maintain a slow airspeed. Nothing is more fun then a good x-wind landing though, especially when you mix in a forward slip with a side-slip and bring it down.
I've taken the course at the University here. We have a 360 degree simulator with all the required positions, Ground, Local, etc. We have to do all the strip marking and all the other required procedures. It's pretty much a real life simulation since you are actually talking to Pseudo-Pilots on the other end. I am not very proficient at it but I got a good idea of how it is in the seat of a tower position. Still doesn't beat flying.
It really is not that hard once you do it a couple times, then the flow just starts working. It gets pretty busy when you have a large amount of planes under your control though.
Tower and Approach/Departure is not that difficult and it is quite fun. Center is just a totally different story, looking at a radar screen all day and keeping track of so many planes is just not my thing.
I have my private pilot license and I'm going to be working on my Instrument/Commercial in 3 weeks when fall classes start, not quite Airline/Professional but working on it.
That takes away a lot of the realism, but as long as you can disable it I'm not against it. I don't think it should be a priority though, there are a bunch of other items that are much more important.
I did a quick search but it yielded nothing. Basiclly I was just thinking that having the possibility to have individual steering wheels (each car steering wheel to have a seperate texture path) for each car would be nice. It's a minor detail but it would be nice especially for custom skins and customizing each car, and it shouldn't take much more then a few minutes to change.

It has happened in the past but it seems to be more common now. I get freezes and if I Alt+Tab and return into the game it sometimes fixes it, sometimes it returns and other times it just crashes the laptop completely (Blue Screen). Sound loops and screen just freezes (no black screen, I still see everything).
(I always thought it was just because of my Crappy onboard video but if others are having problems maybe not )
It's actaully not that much considering how much support you get, all the great features...plus the devs really do deserve it. You get ALOT of enjoyment out of it and you can play it as much as you want. It's a worthy investment in my opinion.
I just caught on to this thread but I'd also like to say that I'd love to see the DP1 in LFS. It looks like a awesome vehicle and it would be alot of fun in LFS, and in real life I imagine.
About PIR, I was actually wondering if there are Public Track Test days or can you only get on the track if you are part of a club? I live about 20 minutes from it and I'd love to do a few laps.
I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem, but since U30 (I think), I've had random lock ups...everything freezes including sounds and then I get blue screen with the physical memory dump. I'm not sure what I can do to correct this.
I haven't either, usually in a car it's a little softer, but after a while you get used to it. There's a bit a pressure in a car too, but you have shoes and you can't that much as when you have your shoes off. It's a little stiffer on the G25 tho.
I just got my G25 this afternoon, its amazing. The Wheel is superb, shifter is great, the pedals are good too, they are alittle too "steep" which makes it alittle uncomftrable but overall it's definitly worth $300. I just hope it lasts long. If your thinking about getting it, GET IT! It's worth it.
