I have S2 and wanted to know why the Clutch pack LSD on the highest settings, locks more then the actual locked diff option.
Is this an ingame bug? Or does the coder not know what a locked diff does?
(stays completely locked the entire time giving complete drive to both wheels at the same time, all the time, no matter if ur on or off the gass :P )
Its just annoying me, the locked diff setting feels like it opens up a tad during corners, where as the clutch pack (everything on max) seems to stay pretty locked through corners, hard on the gas.
Yes I did a search and found nothing, only people arguing about how each diff works. I just need a simple answer, and if LFS will ever code a proper locked diff option
Hey guys im still here modding my XRG (with turbo now )
Anyway, I've been making specs on tweak to match the following cars
R32 GTS-T
S13 (SR20DET)
FC Rx7 (13bt) (difficult to adjust with engine capacity. Ive got power peak pefect, but not torque, it comes in too low.. its just a matter of displacement, and im working on it further as u read this)
Obviously I'm saving all my specs on wordpad, If it interests anyone, i'll happily share the info.
I might just add that im in fact a moron and did it on the XRG...
I just fiddled with the XRT then, and to get stock r32 gts-t figures, for power put in .11 and for torque 1.54, surprisingly, The Peak power figures are almost spot on to the car in real life.
Ok guys, i did it. As best I can, if anyone wants to get the numbers closer, by all means, but ull probbaly end up commiting suicide
I was trying to get my engine specs as close to a stock R32 skyline gts-t. The information I was using gave me, 6 cylinders 158kws @ 6400rpm, and 263nm @ 3400rpm. Weight 1320kg
I got my specs in-game specs to 163kw @ 6973rpm and 263nm @ a very low 1504rpm.
The numbers I used for tweak to get these figures was Torque: 50 Power: 0.325
I changed my ingame diff ratio to 4.1 to suit the standard R32 turbo, and I was pulling the same 0 - 100km time ingame, to what the R32 did.
Standing testimony that LFS is a precise and accurate racing simulator.
This took me 2hours of hair pulling and raging! lol
Yeah i did cylinders before.
And This is making me rage, as soon as the numbers change in tweak, it drastically alters the engine in game. I cant workout the formula, its making me rip my hair out.
I have Tweak for Z version, its working fine, no problems
Im trying to mod an engine to have 6 cylinders, 158kws and 263nm torque, and everytime i fiddle with Power and torque in Tweak, it constantly changes to different power outputs in game.
Is there some kind of a formula, because I can't for the life of me, work it out.
I don't know If this is a game bug, or a problem with my G25 pedals, but It has just started happening... Let me explain.
I'll race around a track as much as I want, as soon as I crash or spin out without hitting anything, I lose all throttle. My engine simply wont rev. The clutch and brakes work fine. Just no throttle.
I Will restart the track and the throttle will be back to normal again, until the above happens.
It only started happening as of today. I've had my G25 for about 1 week now. I've had 0 problems with it too...
Edit: I might also add, I was just ingame, and when I spin out and the throttle stops, the LEFT RED light on the dash comes on, so I went into options ingame, and saw the bottom right throttle indicator was telling me I had the throttle fully pressed down, when physcially It wasn't yet the engine was totally dead. WERID thing is, I did the same spin out, while revving the engine, and it did not stop working. It kept working till came to a stop, and I simply got back onto the track and continued racing...
Hey guys. A friend of mine is buggin the hell out of me to buy Test drive unlimited as its better then LFS... so he says.
I played it on his pc, with the pleasure of looking at a 70" LCD (micro projection) screen.
I personally think TDU lacks massively in the realism/driving department (which is what u do 99% of the time), and live for speed will always give me the most realistic drive i could ever have sitting in a lounge chair at home.
Where LFS lacks, TDU makes up and thats all the pretty things, like buying a house, cool music, buying popular makes&models with exact interiors from the cars which was great eye candy. Though it didnt make up for the unrealistic drive i exprienced. Which is why I play racing games in the first place.
Im open to the next best driving simulator and i keep going back to LFS.
If anyone wants to make there own personal top 3 (or 5) list of there preferred racing games, lets see it.
ok, so im using an older version... not good right? Most likely the reason why its not working.
Ok, im downloading the latest version X now, HOPEFULLY this will solve my problems... only 1 is my internet has been slowed (gone over download limit) so its going to take some time... but thats ok
thanks everyone for your help, i appreciate it tremendously. I thought i was screwed since its been sooo long since i played it and remembering passwords... I wont go there!!
*edit* looking forward to drifting again, ohh how i missed it
ok, I got into lfs.net and changed my passwords and changed the email addy to my new one ([email protected]) and made new gamepassword and i still cant get into it. I also turned off my firewall incase that was the reason and i still get the same error msg LFS gives me. ( the 3 reason thing, firewall, ISP or there master server is down...)
Anything else i can try? Perhaps tomorrow it may work, or in a few hours....
Yeah I cant remember for the life of me the password and username for LFS to unlock S2. I dont know why its asking me again, but maybe its becoz i have a new computer now (i havent played it for months and months) or because i changed ISP's
Has anyone had this? I emailed at liveforspeed.net but its going to be hard to provide proof, i can only do it with my name, credit card details and perhaps my address too. I hope they will accept it.
Anything else i can do?
*edit* I just noticed under my username on this forum that im s2 liscensed, so im not lmaking anything up. I really dont know why its gone back to the demo version. Security perhaps?
Some dedicated drift tracks would be nice, like tight downhill tracks...I know it sounds noobish, but tracks like in Initial D. I think they would test alot of would-be-drifters.
Its was my first one and came up for about .001 of a second then my pc restarted so I couldnt read it.
After that (last night) I changed my Resolution to what my LCD can handle and thats 1200 x 1000 (u know)
It hasnt frozen yet and I played for a longer time without it crashing. Ill keep this thread updated with how many freezes I get.. if it still happens that is.
I did a search also, and it seems its a driver/graphic card problem, and I believe it lies with LFS, not our PC's.
