There is always something to learn in LFS, even if you play it for years!

Quote from G!NhO :ps3 controller is far easier than mouse, you know when you steer straight because you can just put joystick in the middle. with mouse there isnt a center point, so its very hard to drive with mouse for me

If you see the mouse pointer, the steer is straight when the mouse pointer is in center of the screen, that's why I said that you have to see the mouse pointer and keep it on top of the steering wheel.

Without seeing the mouse pointer it is impossible to steer.

Put the mouse pointer where the red dot is, then you can easily control the steering wheel. You need to practise because you have to do it by yourself, there is no help like with the keyboard, especially with drifting.

With mouse you can control the drift like you shoud do with a G25. The only thing is, there is no force feedback.

Quote from G!NhO :impossible if i want to counter steer with mouse the whole car turn to that side

???

Because you counter steer to much? That's why you have to see the mouse pointer, easier en hold it on the top of the steering wheel.

If you guys don't believe me, I can post a movie of it, inside the car.
Mouse Pointer + Connection list

Before the last update of LFS I could see my mouse pointer when I hit shift + f, now it's gone when I do this.

shift + F hides the connection list and other things.

I use this because the connection list (if there are many people on the server) is in the way when I shift Up and Down with the mouse buttons, I always click on someone's name. Very annoying when I'm racing or drifting.

I know with N I can change the screen of not seeing the mouse pointer, connection list.

Is there any way to see the mouse pointer but hide the connection list? Because it's definitely in my way when I'm racing and drifting.

I drift with mouse when I don't have the time to set my G25 up and it's going great!

Set the mouse pointer so you can see it en keep it near the steering wheel (inside car ofcourse).

Z= gas
S= brake
Q= clutch
D= handbrake
Left mouse button = gear up
Right mouse button = gear down

Try this, just practice and you can drift like hell, like I do with mouse.

If you have any question, just ask me (maybe private message?)

Quote from kaynd :There are not any best settings… there are only settings that suit you…
I use 720 degrees of rotation not because that's the best way but because it gives me satisfaction… Depending on the car I usually have 40% force strength from the driver and 100% from the game.
I am not a drifter but I can keep the control of the car while sliding much better than many so called “drifters”

I'm testing it now and I think these are the best settings, can keep the car more in control now, thx!

Quote from the stick :Well just got my wheel in the mail and i plugged it right up to the computer with a little success. It worked alright but didn't turn 900 degrees. It only turns 90 both ways. Gas, brakes, and shifter all worked ok but way too sensitive. So i went to the forums to find a solution to this problem, and found this thread about the upgrades http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=26529
So i thought to myself this is probably whats wrong, because how often do you just plug and play. So I do the little upgrade thing and now the pedals don't respond, and I'm still only getting 90 degrees of turning both ways. I just wanna play I'm so tired of using the keyboard.
If some one knows what I've got to do to get this thing right please let me know.

thanks in advance, John B.

Just download and install the MOMO Racing Force Feedback wheel driver, then you'll be able to change the °, ...

Just got the DFP and have the same problem while drifting, starting the drift is no problem, but then, when you left the corner i can't countersteer fast enough. Just played with it a couple of hours and can't used to it. Can someone help me? Already tried everything on the forum but nothing works. On youtube there are some movies of de DFP and they drift with it like it's a peace of cake...
