Solved

Hi,

Sorry for resurrecting a somewhat old topic, but I had the exact same problem, and just wanted to share that after reading this topic I solved it by installing the latest drivers for the network card (Killer networks E2205 ethernet).

Apparently their older drivers, or the ones that are included with MSI motherboards, causes this problem (although out of a myriad of online games I play, LfS is the only one where I noticed it).

Hope this helps someone!

Requesting more unlocks

Hi,

While trying to solve a problem that doesn't let me join any server or even see any in the hosts list, I used up my unlocks reinstalling the game and trying it on my laptop.

How and where can I submit a request for more unlocks? Or would I be forced now to wait until Friday before I can continue fixing a problem I have with no other games, only LfS?

Thanks, Zeus
Can't connect, can't host

Hi,

I have multiple problems which are probably related somehow.

First off, when I click Multiplayer - Display List Of Hosts, it loads some 400 servers, but all of them give a No Reply result.

Secondly, when I try to connect to a server using Join Specific Server, Find User Online or through LfSWorld, it starts loading, displaying stuff like "Loading textures / tracks" etc, but then it shows Waiting for Guest Info, and the game hangs there (not just waiting indefinitely, but actually hanging - I have to close the game using task manager).

Finally, when I host a game and a friend tries to join, it fails with a timeout or "did not receive UDP packet" message.

I'm running the latest version of the game, freshly installed (and reinstalled). The ports are opened in my router, and Windows firewall is disabled completely.

Any tips or suggestions?

Thanks!

A friend of mine does marketing and sales for a racing simulator called hexatech, so I had the chance to play with it a bit .

It's on some 4-6 hydraulic pistons, and the G-forces it simulates are incredible! Having eaten just before my ride in this thing, I fstarted feeling a bit queasy after 10 minutes or so of driving , and had to stop after half an hour or I would've thrown up .

Check the pics on the linked site (gallery -> a day at the office) for an impression.

It's the only serious simulator I've ever been in, so i can't compare it to anything .

After a long time of not playing, I installed LfS (version U, S1 license) again after receiving an email about its release.

I liked it enough (and was made curious by the pictures of the new cars) to buy the S2 license yesterday.

For some reason, since upgrading to S2, I have to drive really badly to actually crash or spin out, where before, I was having trouble staying on the road a full race, especially with the rwd's. Now I can take any of the new cars (tried them almost all, including the formula cars which I expected to be extremely hard), and never even touch the side of the road.

It'd be cool if I actually improved so much after more than a year of non-racing, but I don't believe that...

Did the default setups improve drastically? Or was something else done to S2 to make driving the cars easier?

BTW I don't mean to imply that I can now take on any regular here , just that it feels much easier in single player.

Another question: I wanted to try out S2 in multiplay yesterday, and got on a server (the porsche lookalike and new version of the GTR only). I could not get beyond a certain speed (doing about 7000 rpm in second gear), no matter if I shifted up or down (I'd just keep the same speed with lower or higher rpm). Any idea what was going on there? The guys in the server did not respond well to my self-proclaimed newbie question illepall . I joined another server, and there the problem did not exist.

Thanks!
