Huh, sorry for the late 😂 response but it's only now I found this thread.
No malware there, it's my page, I'm hosting it for us (AirAttack team) but feel free to use.
I noticed one day that EQ Worry's page (airio.eu) was being left unpaid (there would be a redirect to "renew" page every now and then if you visited it) so I grabbed all of it and fixed up the links so the docs menu would work as expected.
Ok, one thing bugs me. Why just two values (6/12s)? The double time penalty if you go slightly overboard is bit unfair.
Why not make it damage dempendent? Sort of "timeInPits = percentBroken * penaltyRate + minimalTime"
Option2 obviously. I'd say make it at 90% for minor/major repair.
Also make it available as a server setting to force no repair for those hardcore racers
Ok, I love the wire frame view (now we can marvel how unnecessary complex the keyhole is).
Is there a way to make the events list go away though? I don't care much about events so that's lost on me and I'm already missing the car that was my lfs greeting for past 15 years. #bringitback ;-)
Also, while we're here, we are still waiting for Rallycross arena.
Same like layout square but with different surface type and some random variance to land elevation. That shouldn't be so hard.
Yes. And I don't think it's "normal" I'd say it's abnormal. It does not persist after restart. I was getting crazy over this for years thinking it must be me since no two laps are the same but the difference is so distinct.
I do occasionally swap cars to send xfg setup to someone and then back to xrg (this is when it's "enabled") and more often sending "reasonable" (not the one I'm using myself) xrg setup to new players (this would be the moment when it's gone) but never noticed the correlation until recently.
Just now. I was doing 1.9.2-1.9.5's an hour ago.
Now, quick car swap, straight away 1.9.04, 1.8.97 in 2 consecutive laps.
Next race 1.8.96, 1.9.25, 1.9.22 (just because I ran out of fuel good 10m before finish line and left tyres were well into red (lap 5) :-) )
Also why I had "streaks" of good racing for weeks if it does not persist across game restarts? Well, there's easy explanation to that as well. My Lfs is running 24/7 for weeks making sure one of our servers stays visible on servers list.
Edit: Replay attached. Action starts after 5 minutes.
First 4 laps after connecting to server, next 4 laps after changing setups between xrg's, last 4 laps after switching between xfg and xrg.
Last 3 laps:
1.08.93 (pb on server)
1.08.96
1.09.05 (new average best over 3 laps on server 1.08.98)

Reason : Attaching replay
I do most of my racing on BL3-XRG combo. My lapcount on it is upwards of 45k so one might say I know it pretty well.
What I'm experiencing is streaks of better racing - doing PB's, great splits/sectors (splits consistently into 36.1x and laps into 1.09.1x) and overall the car handles like a dream. Then something changes and it's gone. I'm still doing OK laps (splits in 36.3x and laps in 1.9.4x) and car seems bit laggy. Basically I'm all of a sudden 0.2-0.3s slower. Same car, same driver, same setup, same pc, same mouse.
I tried to figure out the reason but unsuccessfully for years. Tried to restart game, limit framerate, not limit framerate, change steering settings, play in full screen, cycle full screen and windowed back and forth, some particular setup setting, change between settings back and forth, driver settings and nothing worked. Until recently.
I think I found the cause.
When I'm switching between setups - I'm slower.
When I switch cars XRG -> XFG -> XRG and then switch from default hardtrack setup to my setup - I'm faster!
It seems to me like if something is not properly cleared if you flip between setups but it's gone if you swap cars.
Can you, at least for the sake of my sanity, give it a look? :-)
If that's of any importance I'm using mouse axis as steering input in wheel controller interface.
First time I saw that, perhaps related to latest update.
"Packet from unknown UCID 16" then "Lost synchronisation with host"
I could probably pull some logs from airio if needed.
I am aware that I'm nit-picking here but funny thing just happened.
I ran out of fuel and missed the pit box. Fortunately I managed to roll the car back and forth and position it within the box, but the repairs/refuel never happened :-(
Anyway, replay for your amusement, attached. Fun starts around 6:45. x16 replay speed recommended :-)
Just recently we encountered situation where 2 cars were sitting on the same grid slot at race start.
Possibly something related to 2 guys leaving server at the same time.
Anyway... replay attached.
I'd like to touch on a different topic from the posters above.
I really hate the fences around the track the way they are now.
If you run in the right direction it's all good and dandy, but in reverse configs if you end up touching grass and eventually head towards the railing your race is effectively over, as you soon enough end up with it trying to split your car in two.
I can fix it with autocross objects but OOTB It's seriously annoying...
And indeed it does, but other players must restart their LFS for this thing to work which I did not took into consideration.
But... I found another weird thing. You can change your skin (jpg) file all you want, the dds stays old and that's what is loaded for me (even after restarting the game).
I'm now able to switch back and forth between these 2 variants by selecting Options->Graphics->Cars and helmet skins full/compressed.
It qualifies as bug, right?
At the moment. when you update your skin (upload without changing its name), none having this skin already will notice it has changed. When you upload it with a new name, everything seems ok, but everyone who had it previously end up with useless file sitting on their drive.
I know that few megabytes does not bother 99,9% of the people these days. but [here goes the feature request] it'd be very cool when checking skin on lfsworld would inform clients that skin was changed and replaced with current one.
I've been approached by turbofreak recently about my AIRIO statistics script, but since it was written long time ago and in a (bit) hurry, it's qute rigid construction suited for my own needs (not to mention the crappy code ;-))
So i sat, thought long (not really) and hard, and re-did the whole thing almost from scratch.
It supports 3 types of storage (textfile, sqlite, mysql (altough the last one wasn't properly tested, sorry) and it's easily extensible to support anything you want, if you know your way around php a bit.
In future (I spoke with EQ already) along with the stats will go authentication key to prevent bogus data sending if someone figure out your send url
Please note that some files HAVE TO BE renamed in order to work. That is for security reasons. Do yourself a favour and be creative with these names :-)
Code is heavily commented, so if you can read the poor english of mine, I'm sure you'll manage to get this thing working.
tip: config.php and reader.php are files where the main configuration data can be found. savestats.php is also worth a read.
I noticed today, that drivers bottom is sticking out underneath the car (if driver is a woman ) . I couldn't find similar report, so I thought I'll give you a shout
These cars are affected (I think I checked 'em all): LX4,LX6,RAC,BF1,FO8
Wouldn't it be even better to extend files checking from just exe file to track files as well? (sorry if it's already done this way, I hadn't chance to check it yet)
I witnessed some users passing through barriers as if they weren't there... and in fact they don't have 'em. It's easily done, actually, took me just few minutes of hexediting to replicate this 'hack'

I'm now going to (to mine own surprise) agree with original poster.
Yes, demo is better than S2 unless devs put some kind of hash limitations on.
I'm a casual driver. Can't be arsed to install wheel and pedals to play, so I use mouse/keys and for several years I was happy demoing on bl2r.
When patch Y came over I was sad... I never liked non rev blackwood rally layout and even less bl1 with this sluggish boxes, but the only choice for me was either buy license or stick to other combo, and yes, I took the other option and spent few months racing xfg on bl2 and then FBM on BL1 but eventually, when I got some extra money I bought S1 license to race again on BL2R without using any hacks (you could use rev tracks offline by setting track in lfs.txt file in Y0), but sadly all my happiness was soon gone when I figured out that there was and still is nearly none to race against on that, and other dirt tracks.
So yes, I was disappointed with S1/S2 in a way, but even so, I DON'T regret paying and WILLING TO pay devs another fee for next stage and it is not because they giving out more content to play with (at which I'll no doubt be utterly rubbish) but because I've had such a great times for free back in time.
You're not happy with players count? Get used to it.
Demo is alive. New people making progress, having fun, crashing (yes, that's inevitable) and leaving to some better place, some even buy S2 license.
S1 is dead.
S2 is stagnated. Same people, same combos, same turn (left).
Just few scenes from recently seen replay, taken on AA FBM, no finger pointing, just example how it's seen (mostly) from perspective of relatively fast racer.
Sadly, democracy failed here. Since none would believe unknown dude when someone better known around is voting against him.
The only one banned was the leftmost dude.
