I was looking through some replays I had today and ran across this one and it gave me a good laugh, so I thought I'd share. Don't expect anything great, but it was pretty funny.

Does anyone understand how the positioning of the speed limit & location names positioned?

I see that it has something to do with the coordinates. I'm confused as to how to create my own "zones" for a track that doesn't currently have them. It appears that there is one X coordinate, and 2 y coordinates??

case "AS5":
for (int i = 0; i < Players.Count; i++)
{
if ((MCI.Info[i].Node >= 731) && ((MCI.Info[i].X / 196608) <= -203) && ((MCI.Info[i].Y / 196608) <= -63) && ((MCI.Info[i].Y / 196608) >= -147))
{
InSim.Send_BTN_CreateButton("^2Pit Lane", Flags.ButtonStyles.ISB_DARK, 5, 25, 0, 64, 171, (Connections[GetConnIdx(Players[GetPlyIdx(MCI.Info[i].PLID)].UniqueID)].UniqueID), 2, false);

I'm assuming you use the coordinates to create a "box" around the area that you want to zone off. You use two x,y coordinates to create that box.

But, thats where I'm completely lost.

I'm new to programming, but I'd really like to give it a shot. I've been digging through the source for hours to try to understand it, along with using the program that the creator of this OSS server also made (the coordinate viewer), and I just can't understand how it works.

In the meantime, I'll continue working on my own modifications to the code.

Me and a couple friends were playing around having a little fun doing wheelies after dragging a lot...

One friend did a wheelie, another friend stomped on it going the opposite direction, and here is how it all ended up!

One problem I've noticed with a joystick is that some models don't allow you to give full throttle/full turn. Mine is this way, I can give full throttle and turn about 1/2 of the way, but if I turn any harder it backs off on the throttle. Don't know how I could fix that...

I have a Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold USB.

Post your server hardware

Hi everyone. Thought that those of us that are hosting servers could share what hardware we use.

This is going to be my new server soon... I plan to my my S2 license soon too to make it worthwhile. This server will be shipped out to Chicago to be colocated in the next couple months.

Here is the current hardware:
  • HP Proliant ML570 G2 (130lb. 7u Rack-mount Case)
  • 4x2.0GHz Xeon MP Processors (4 individual hyperthreaded processors)
  • 8x512MB PC1600 DDR ECC RAM (Total of 4GB)
  • 2x15k RPM 36GB Ultra320 SCSI HDs - RAID 1 (Main OS)
  • 2x10k RPM 73GB Ultra320 SCSI HDs - Not in use ATM
  • HP Smart Array 6402 Ultra320 PCI-X SCSI RAID Controller
  • CentOS Linux 5.0 - Operating System
Here are the planned upgrades:
  • Addition of 2x10k RPM 73GB Ultra320 SCSI HDs - Set up in RAID 0+1 along with the other 2 current 73GB drives
  • *Possible* Addition of another Memory Board allowing for 8 more sticks of PC1600 DDR ECC RAM
  • Dual Gigabit NIC
Anyway, can someone give me an idea of how many LFS servers this would support?

Thanks, and share your servers too!

Dennis

Well, maybe this is part of my problem.

When I try to start insim on my LFS server, with /insim 29999, I get an error saying:

INSIM - TCP : Bind Failed
INSIM - Not Initialized

But if I try a different port, say 29990, it works fine.

In my servers config file I have it set to port 29999 though.

What's wrong??

Thanks,

Dennis

OK, thanks for the help, I forgot to install the .net framework, I realized that right after I made the post .

Anyway, I used the server all last night.

Today I tried to restart everything, it didn't work. A few minutes ago, I started out fresh with a new install of the LFS dedicated server and mod_drag.

The mod_drag mod will not work now at all.

I join the server, type /insim 29999, and run the executable for mod_drag. It says Connection Successful and seems to work fine. Nothing shows up in the server or the server logfile, not errors, no text that confirms connection, nothin'. Any help?

Thanks,

Dennis

Hi, I am having a problem and need some help.

I am trying to set up this mod_drag mod on my little server.

I ran the /insim 29999 in the chat console of my server, it seemed to be working.

I edited the configuration file, only to change the admin password. I left everything else at the default.

When I run the ISRM.exe file, it errors out with the following:

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.

Do I need to put the ISRM.exe and other files inside the LFS dedicated server folder, or what?

Thanks for any help,

Dennis
