for me is the lack of new content which drives me down from being in LFS in a daily basis as I used to to in "the old times".
Up to the begining of S2 we used to get decent new content in a decent timeframe and kept everyone enthusiatic about the sim, but now not really the case ...a new car was announced with release date (if I remember correctly december 2008?) and then for almost two year we got only patches nothing really substancial to play with ...this is a game at the end of the day and must be fun... for me part of the fun was the regular new content.

Having to download the skins from the lfs-depo or something named like that ...there was also an application, not sure if official development or customer side, which would check for new skins uploaded int hat site and download them to you PC... otherwise it was all white cars around 
Obviously not much around here as I would have liked

Anyone thinks there will be any updates to the collision model between cars? ...thats really the single one thing I would love to see changed/improved/updated in LFS.

I will probably win a life time ban for me and my sons and my grandsons (if and when!), but I dont deal well with abuse, and having being in this redline servers a few times I do have to say that this Evo guy is quite abusive, not only in his language but overall attitude towards other ppl in HIS server.
I fully understand its YOUR server dude and you can do as you please ...you pay for the beans, is up to you to do tacos or burritos, but if you invite other to YOUR party, I believe we could all live with a better attitude and manners. Its a simple courtesy to your guests.
I might be wrong, but think I even got a ban time for defending some other guy on an incident vs Evo, so got kicked (or banned?), not sure for that ...oh well.
I am sure its nothing like that in real life, but on the servers I saw, it kinda looked like a 15 y.o. drunk on a power trip, showing off how powerfull he was by banning here and there.

From personal experience, the only way to stop smoking is STOP SMOKING.
This seems (and probably is) a stupid and obvious remark, and before the flames reach my new underwear, let me explain further...
I smoked for almost 20 years, 20 to 30 cigs a day in the last few years. Just for ppl to see I was not just a casual smoker, I was very much addicted.
I thought of quiting millions of times, through the past few years, specially after I had family. But for one reason or another, I never did... oh a smoker can find so many excuses, you wouldnt belive.
The thing was for me (this I guess varies from person to person, so no golden rule) the habit of smoking was very attached to certain circumstances or rutines, it was automatic if you want. Bathroon, after a meal, after sex, with a drink, after sports (watching them on TV!), driving, waiting, etc ...each one of us has its own list.
So once I realized this, I tried to break those patterns by doing something else, like chewing gum (said before ...really works!), have a coke (from some reason coke worked for me), drink a lot of water, or eat a fruit.
Now, the decision of not smoking was terrfying, I smoked all my adult life, and couldnt picture myself without my "partner", so I did it one day at the time, one hour at the time, one minute at the time ...the fear of making a long term statemtn of not smoking is too severe, start by saying, "ok, I wont smoke this one, will wait 10 minutes" ...knowing that in ten minutes you "can" have it easy the carvings alot more than if you think you wont be able to do it again.
I used to do that every time I wanted a smoke, not this minute, later it was not this hour, not today and suddenly ...1.5 years without a smoke Knowing that you cant is the worst so dont stress yourself, make small comittments to yourself, and go with them, put together all of them make a HUGE commitment.
My tip ...sure there are 1001 others.

The BF1 and FO8 defenitively need some improvement. If u ever heard a Formula 3000 or F1 from the stands you know they really scream like nothing in this earth on high revs. In U36 when spectating it almost seems like a vacum cleaner on steroids. Come on there must be something better than this for these cars.
The rest seem to be ok, still dont like much over muffled sounds, but you could say each car sounds more or less as you would expect. Would like more engine sound in all cases, but can live with this.
The FO8 and BF1 are a diff story. Hope they get fixed, cos they dont sound anything close to a real F1 or F3000.

The situation you describe sounds more like a demo server than a full S2 server. Usually LFS players are more civilised ...I said "usually", since all of us have met at some point the jerk who enjoys distroying everyone elses fun. But thats NOT usual.
The usual patern in a situation like you descirbed is the endless crash-restart, where the 3 or 4 ppl who crashed in turn one try to get the race restarted so they have another chance (usually to crash again). Ppl crashing and just leaving ...gosh, sometimes I would love to see that
Anyways, my 2 cents for you, specially if you are starting...
1. Try servers named by a Team, that will most likely assure that they are well administrated and moderated in case is necessary. Nothing is 100% sure, but your chances of a well moderated server increase if the owner of the server is a team, specially ther well known ones. In you time zone (same as mine), I would suggest any of the CORE servers, the CeroLag server (if you speack spanish), or our server (usually named: www.blacksheepteam.com) were you would be more than welcome.
2. Try servers with 3 or 4 ppl at first, they tent to be more open for communication, chat a little, ask for a good setup, etc. Servers with 10+ ppl tend to get very competitive, and ppl has less patience with the newer racers.
One of the beuties of LFS (compared to other games) is that you can make 20 races (5 laps) is just a couple hours of gameplay... most servers dont have a mandatory qualify at start, and in most servers you can join the server and the race, even if its already started, so the time between you launch the game till you are racing rubbing bumpers with someone else, is really the fastest thing you will get. Most servers start a race, in less than 2 mins of the end of the previous.
Take a look around and take it easy, if server doesnt looks confortable to you, just switch servers ...dont have to stay were you are not having fun.

ROFL ...now I am a jackass and say crap. Very adult and respectful way of passing your point of view.

PS. For those who have not followed this thread, it was me who posted "If you don't like it don't play it", meaning, why bother discussing over a game? if you feel so strong about the flaws of a game, why bother even playing it (not to mention posting about it), get that other game that maybe you think is better. End of story.
If I play LFS for almost 3 years now, is because if have fun, sure there are flaws, but for me the pros are largely greater than those flaws, and with the aggregate bonus that in here you have a comitted dev team which makes every effort to solve those flaws, little by little.
So, my question is why bother wasting your precious time in something you dont enjoy?

Well, actually I am living in Brazil since last June, but from either country I have never had problems on high pings, the max I see on the list is usually around 300, and the server we rent is in the UK, and the ping is usually bellow 200. I guess its not were you are but the connection you got

The BlackSheep SimRacing Team (aka BS) started in February 22, 2006, by a group of friends willing to find a home were to have fun as a team, with people who share our passion for online racing simulators, and our ideals of how a team should work among friends.
We got simple and few rules, just enough to describe the kind of behaviour we expect from our members. We are all adults, so common sense and a good attitude is really the only thing required. Our ideals are simple: be Fun, Friendly and Fair.
BS is focused on simulator games, which is the kind of game we enjoy. Currently BS plays mainly Live For Speed S2 (www.liveforspeed.net), but the team is not limited to it, we also play GT Legends from time to time, and any other game our members feel like, but it is not the idea to support many games, instead, we would like to concentrate only in a few of them to maintain a close relationship among our members.
