Quote from fwanky :so im just being shit then? thought so, either im doing something terrible wrong or im just incredibly rusty :S

They also change the weather around between seasons so the same car could be faster or slower at the same track even if they don't update the physics. Blame the wind for anything weird in the corners with the winged cars.

Quote from Kristi :I would love to go for Pro indeed. I bought the FW31 and I have pretty much every tracks in that series except Virginia, but there is a problem. I am simply like 5 seconds off pace with that car. I see where I'm losing time, but for sake I just can't adjust to it. Not that I drove it so much (10 laps or so), but still. Jump into a RUF and you are 1 sec off the WR after 5 laps. Any tips on getting adjusted to that car, or regards driving?

Also, I'm driving the GT3 and RUF Cup simulatenously, and they indeed are competitive. They are bound to turn into wreck parties though...

If you have the MP4, drive that and try to still stay competitive with the RUFs, The MP4 has the same quirks as the FW-31 does so you'll pick it up quicker if you drive the MP4 a lot.

I guess I'm a little late to the Pro/DWC Road running, but if you want to really go for it, go for it in S1 or S2 if you haven't already started. The A class series is really weak with a few exceptions. Only the top 15 of S1 and S2 will be considered for Pro this year.

I'd say go for Pro if you have the time, 2013 was a very competitive field throughout imo and the 2014 DWC I think really has the best of the best due to it. 2014 Pro is most likely going to be no where near as competitive. If you want always competitive fields, run GT3.

Quote from Jrod :They admit that if they had known how big of a project it was going to be, they would have never started on it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?f ... e&v=3XFJt81g97k#t=906

I have to wonder what makes the project take such a long time to complete. rFactor and LFS have had driver swaps way before iRacing was even around.

Isaac,

I saw the tribute skin that Jorn Jens was using during the last Pro race and then saw your post on the iR, really sorry for your loss. Good luck in the upcoming DWC.

Quote from IsaacPrice :Thanks, definitely unexpected after I derped qualifying, I guess the hours on cargame dodging the wrecks paid off in the end . Shame Robin couldnt make it through the lap 1 carnage though. Had quite a lot of people congratulating me etc even though I dont really play LFS anymore, nice to see the community spirit etc

At least you made the grid when you borked your Q. I was running 45.9s-46.1s all morning and then did a 46.5 in the official session. Congrats on the podium though.

Good to see another LFSer showing the iracers how it's done. You were fast all season and even held me back at Zandvoort when you had taken damage. Look up last season's results, my name has a "IV" in it if you're wondering who I am.

Woohooo!!!!

He's had a lot of practice with Turn 1 using LFS so there's no excuse if you turn out like Grosjean.

We'll all be rooting for you!!

Basically in iRacing heat = no grip.

Well that's frustrating. Didn't they just update their tire model recently?

I've been playing iRacing off and on for the past couple of months and I can't just seem to enjoy it. The cars just seem way too nervous and you seem to spin randomly.

Maybe I'm just not getting adjusted to how iRacing's physics work, but I've played LFS and the Rfactor 2 beta and gone for many laps without feeling like I was going to spin at any moment. Did anyone else have this problem when they first tried out this sim?

They probably took the engine that just blew up, applied some duck tape and sent it back to Red Bull.

Speed channel's commentors pretty much just summed up this race.

"As Barichello crosses the line, we'll go to a commercial. Don't worry you won't miss a thing."

Quote from CSU1 :This seems to be Obama's plan, I was watching an interview last night and he plans to ban arms in all states replacing them with inflateable rubber axes and hammers - he firmly believes this will make America a safer place

*can't wait* for the robberys 'caught on tape' - 'man enters drug store and beats poor shop assistand silly with rubber axe'

LOL!

Wasn't exactly caught on tape, but someone tried to rob a gas station with a banana a few weeks ago trying to pass it off as a gun. The Cashier pulled out a shotgun on him and had him stay in the store until the police arrived.

Thanks mate,

The only difference is that I'm going up the chicane instead of down it, but I'll give those suggestions a try.
AS4 BF1 Setup Help

I'm currently having trouble with suspension damage with the BF1 from the uphill section at AS4. What I am trying to do is be able to go about 11-12 laps before going to pit, but with the set i got from setupgrid (see below) I can only get the car to go about 8 laps before the suspension decides to give up.

I was told to try raising the ride height to solve the problem but that doesn't really seem to help. I've never made my own set before so I don't know what to try first to remedy the problem.

I've included the set I am using and an .spr file with me running the set until the car breaks. I'm wondering if my problem has anything to do with the line I take going uphill.

Thank you for your help

I bought a totaled 2006 Chevy Cobalt LT back in 2007 for about $2200. All it really needed was a radiator, front fender, front bumper, windshield, and a new airbag (the frame needed to be straightened as well). So altogether I payed $5500 for it which isn't bad for how it turned out. If you were to look at it you would think it was never in an accident.

The only problem I have with it is that the ABS decides to turn off every now and then. Other than that it runs very well, I've even brought to autox events for some laughs. (auto transmission and all-year tires :P)

Quote from Vinnylegends :Uhm no, F1 doesnt have reverse gears.

Somebody didn't watch the Canadian Grand prix last season :P

IIRC Nico Rosberg got penalized for going into reverse to go around that pitlane incident.
