Watch this replay then. First is quite long I admit, but it can get the wheels spinning with cold tyres as demonstrated. Then, I dump the clutch after the pit stop and... clutch gone, because the brakes are still on!
All I'm asking is that the control of the brakes is handed back to me after the pit is finished. It's not that much to ask is it?
But since the brakes stay on, dumping the clutch doesn't get the wheels spinning! It forces me to have a really short first gear just to get out of the pits.
Guys, I don't think you really understand me. Please watch the attached mpr which should explain it. Watch it with in car view and observe the pedal bars down the bottom right.
When the pit stop has finished the brakes are stuck on until I'm going roughly 10kph. Until then, I'm fighting the brakes to get going.
Am I the only one infuriated by the brakes staying on when a pit stop finishes? It just makes it that much easier to burn your clutch or stall it. This may not be an issue for auto-clutch people but for manual clutch drivers it's a royal pain.
So please, when my pit stop has finished, give me control of my brakes again!
For me, if there were only 2 real tracks ever to be recreated by Eric, Bathurst & Nurby are my choices. This lap of Murphy's at the mountain is so good it makes me cry.
I can't top GrandSurf's effort, but I did get mine done and working well
Thanks for the forcefields. They work very well.
Here are a few pictures of it all set up. A few pieces of wood keep the momo knob in place and secured on the joystick base. Also, I've got a spare momo wheel here that I'm using for a clutch.
At first I wasn't going to update, but in the name of LFS I'll test this out tomorrow after golf.
CPU: Athlon XP @ 2350mhz
GFX: 9800pro
Edit: I'm no longer going to test this out. Not only do I not have HT, the compulsary CCC inclusion in the new driver packages is bound to screw up something on my computer. Windows Update has issues installing .NET service packs on my computer, and as such I wouldn't be in the best position to give reliable results about the latest drivers.
I've got the same joystick. I think you'll find that it won't produce all of the forces it's supposed to because it can only produce 8 effects at once. Because of this problem, I found I was always shifting from 2nd to 5th, and 5th to 6th instead of 4th cause there was no force from the right towards the centre.
Sequential style force fields still work normally cause there are less than 8 forces.
I was bored the other day so I started working through the training lessons and ended up completing all the Demo lessons. I could get 'pro' on every test except the GT braking. I've tried everything that's possible in that test and still can't get a pro ranking. I'm not a slow driver and have been playing this game for over 2 years.
Might want to check this thread out, specifically Blowtus' post. It fixed it for me. It has something to do with a power interface driver or something. It worked for me.
Good idea. I think it should be just like GPL, with the little window for spectating, a good portion of the screen dedicated to showing a map of the track, track name, qualifying times, number of laps for the race, etc.
