I have been playing lfs for yearsbut have just had to re-format my hard drive so lost everything on it. I downloaded the latest update and was quite upset because I can no longer play the game in my onlydriving style available to me which was entirely on the mouse.
I'm physically disabled and only able to use a mouse mouth control and on the older versions of LFS you could control the steering and acceleration/breaking on the mouse. It's the acceleration and breaking facility which has disappeared. I used to be able to push my control up to accelerate and pull back to break.
I have searched all the options but it's no longer available? Please could someone tell me I've missed it because I really love this game!
Hi guys
for those who don't know me I'm the guy who races with his mouth on a tongue joystick!
I've just had the best race of my LFS career so far! I've been setting up the car for a couple of weeks with solo lap times getting down to 2:21 on Millward and thought yesterday I'd try a 10 car race on learner ai that was way to easy and won by 50 seconds. This morning I tried it on OK ai which was a completely different experience. On learner they lap at about 2:32 but on OK they do consistent 2:25's.
although I was battling for 8th and 9th places for all 15 laps I've rarely driven that consistently. Normally once I make up a place I'm constantly looking in my mirror to see where they are. When this happens my breaking goes to pot! Fortunately after 36 minutes of tongue knackering driving I took 9th place on the final lap but forgot to replay it so can't watch it back
I've been trying to unlock my LFS S2 for the first time but it says my user name isn't registered.
I have tried changing the password numerous times on the website (the game password), but it still wont recognise it.
Tristan! yeah probably I'm a bit of a racing sim addict And am always on the lookout for new driving games I can play.
My mouth control is a single stick joystick with 2 buttons which acts like a mouse. I've been experimenting recently with different driving styles and control methods. for ages I used 1 button which has a latching facility and left the accelerator constantly on and used the other button for breaking. I can break with my chin while steering with my tongue but it has a tendency to be erratic.
Recently I discovered that the joystick can operate both steering and throttle/breaking which is slightly more consistent But can't seem to get the same breaking manoeuvres a with the buttons.
Hi
I'm using a really old version "Live for Speed S2 0.5P ALPHA." Where do I find the auto update?
can I just install the latest catch and that would be enough?
I've also tried to log into www.lfsworld.net but I don't know which password it needs
I'm an avid player of lfs in the solo player mode. Being disabled and driving with a mouth control I'm not confident enough to play on multi player mode so pretty much stick to hot laps and occasional races against npcs.
I've got a couple of questions I'd appreciate answers to
I've got s2 but I haven't kept up with the patches. I am wanting to get up-to-date with patches but don't know if I have to download all Of them or where to find them.
My next couple of questions are to do with car set-ups.
1) I enjoy playing about with car set-ups but can't find how to stop the car swapping ends both under breaking and generally going around corners. I had a good set-up that took weeks to get right but tweaked it to much and now it's useless.
2) in the car set-up manual it says that the Clutch pack LSD is the most commonly used differential but I just can't get it driving around corners. The only differential I can drive with is the locked diff which buggers up my tyres.
3) tyres! Every time I race my tyres screech when going around every corner no matter my spee or angle of entry. Why?
