All is i the hands of the gods now boys and girlies.
I posted it because i want everyone to be AWARE that it has happened and to spread the word of warning to people who might want to try and defraud people of their gaming accounts. Nothing better than publicity to stifle a secretive method.
Hopefully others won't get stung by such things in the future.
Game accounts can be stolen so here i am showing you a way that someone tried to do it to me, so you can be more vigilant.
i could have done this privately but that would bear no benefit to the community of LFS.
to be able to help, you need to clarify that you've connected the pedals properly, installed all the latest drivers (specific to you OS if need be i.e Vista, Xp etc), have gone to options in game to calibrate your pedals.
most likely is the calibration, its a tad tricky. especiallly if you have combined pedals i.e. brake and throttle work on the SAME axis. all this by the way you can resolve in LFS options>contols.
look in the LFS manual for wheel calibration. more helpful than me regurgitating it here for you
indeed. new MOMO :/ is the answer. nothing against logitech but i certainly expected it to work for a bit longer than it did. just unlucky i guess. i'd love a g25 but the cost is just unreasonable considering im only playing for fun 2-3 times a week and anyways the momo was brilliant when it was working.
anyone with a MOMO for sale please let me know. I might buy it
like i said since the sensors for wheel movement move the pedals also its probably the controller chip or the whatever its called that decides the action of signals.
the ffb is totally absent so the motor may or may not be working. who knows i don't know how to check this but i don't think this has any bearing upon the functioning of the wheel as a whole i.e. without ffb the wheel would still detect movements. the only thing iv'e done is to see what happens in calibration window when i type joy.cpl in run and then go to properties.
the disk sensor is perfectly clear and clean. however when i tap it with the end of a screw driver the wheel in callibration window "joy.cpl" moves full left or full right v abruptly, it also moved the pedals... strange but true.
the ffb is also not present as if to suggest no power is getting to the motor although the power cable is working properly "i checked it already with a volt/current detector thingy"
i think the board chip has had an episode of madness and is now totally borked. unless any of you guys know what it might be the only thing is to trash and buy new.
i did buy this from e-bay for £40 apparently "new" from a company selling refurbished products. probably was a factory reject or something. lesson learned i think !!
basically all the controls now work except the wheel itself.
the power is going to the wheel but you can use it without the power source so power is irrelevnt in this situation. well i was in my experience when i forgot to plug the power in sometimes.
anyway im gonna throw the lot in the bin. cant be assed with it. im just gonna buy a new one when i have some cash. what a waste of money.
no i was trying to see if it works. but nope. still fekked. i think my wheel is totaly borked. i opened it up and no fuses or anything. so god knows whats wrong with it.
suddenly during a race everything just stopped working. peddlas and sterring wheel. nothing is working.
usually there is a green light on the wheel showing that it is powered up. not even that is light so im wondering if it is a fuse blown inside the machine.
im reluctant to open it up since i think i still have a guarantee
any suggestions, previous experience of this happening to you or someone you know ?
I was reading the "Advanced Setup Guide" in the LFS Manual and on suspension, it said this :-
'Q) How do I tune them? A) Thankfully you can get a very good idea of what settings to run very easily. If you open up the Suspension Analyser file for the car you are looking to tune..................'
what in gods name is a suspension analyser and how do i open the "Suspension Analyser File" ?
