I just read this Forum too irregular

I asked for it about a Year ago.
Scaven (Or was it Eric?) told me that they have not enough time to release a Linux Dedicated Host in near future.
But he didnt negotiate it

Well, perhaps not the Problem of you all, but i noticed a strange behavour with LFS, too.
When i switch on AA, LFS will just get unplayable in Window-Mode.
The Screen fills from top down just line for line, the higher i set AA the slower it goes.
But as soon as i switch to fullscreen, it runs ok.
Without AA everything runs well, in Fullscreen- as well as in Window-Mode.
I got this behavour after i reinstalled Windows some Month ago. No Hardware changed, just reinstalled Windows. Before that i could run LFS with 8xAA in Window-Mode, now its not playable.
Thats no big deal for me because i allways Race in Fullscreen, but sometimes you just want to check IRC or something between Races and hit F4 ...
Its so funny because i just installed all drivers as i used before, but it behaves different

Oh well, my Hardware: Athlon64 3200+, 1GB Ram, Radeon9800Pro
but because it run well with same Hardware before Windows-Reinstallation I dont think its something with that (As well as the Fact that without AA everything runs fine, too.)
Oh yes, with AA the CPU is 99% used by LFS in Window-Mode, but only 40-70% in Fullscreen or Window-Mode without AA.

Perhaps someone knows this Problem?

I messed up my Race, first i felt too slow and pushed too much.
My front right Tire didnt like that and i think my carhandling suffered by that
Then in Pit my Pitcrew didnt changed the front left tire but all other.
Car handling still crap
During the 2nd Stint my sounds gone away and i didnt remember the key to reset sound (never happen to me before) so i had to go to options searching the key and lost Time again.
Well ok and then the little crash with Strobe, sry man it was just very close at that corner )
Next time i hope to do better (Well 3rd is ok but with so much space between me and the 1st & 2nd not *G*)

Oh! watching the Results i see i did veeery good first Split, but very slow 3. Split. I ve to train that Part of Track i think )

I agree that DNF should not give more Points than a finished Race in a lower Division.
The chance for Wind will be an interesting addition to the Season.
5 Races + Teamrace are not too much for a Season. I would prefer to drive Seasons as it is, perhaps 4 Races + Teamrace?

Dont think the Topspeed is really relevant for that Split

Isnt this is the advantage of the Relay-Host?
The people watching the Race are not directly connected to the Game Server but to the Relay-Host?

Otherwise it would be a problem with loads of Spectators ...

About short before Lap 30 i noticed silent squiking noises in my Room and began thinking about mices or some other animals that are arranging their winter-home in my Room and *wack* i hit the walls, twice or even more )
I had to do my second Stop much earlier than planned because my Steering was not in center any more (I was on 3 Stop-Strategy and didnt liked to change it) so i put 95% Fuel after the second stop and hell it all worked well so I could finish 2. after all ...

Thats the second Time I hear these squiking sounds while driving LFS, I have to investigate the source )

I just thought of a possibility to spectate Races in 3D-Perspective.
Perhaps you know LFS-Spectator, which is allready nice to follow a Race without being connected to the Server.
But it would be much better if those Spectators could see the Race in the TV-View for example.
So perhaps it would be possible to release a free LFS-Client which can only get the Relay-Host-List and connect to a Server listed there and watch it like you can do if you are directly connected as Spectator on a Server.
In this "LFS-TV-Client" you can't start Races, nor do training, you do not even be allowed to setup a Controller or something.
I dont know if the InSim-Information is enough to feed the real LFS-Engine for rendering the Race, but it would be really nice

Some of my Firends followed the Endurance-Leage Race yesterday, they like the Top-Down View of LFS-Spectator because you have a very good Overview of the Race. But they missed a real 3D-View which is more exciting to spectate, especially in cases of close battles for Positions ...

So there are two factors that should be given:

• The LFS-TV-Client has to be cut down to only the neccessary functionality to display a Race and select those Races from the Relay-Host-List. (Scaven? *G*)
  
• The InSim Informations have to be as complete to feed the LFS-Client with all the information to render the Cars on Track.
  

Is this generally possible?

Perhaps its because of your CPU.
I ve got a 1.4Ghz and have annoying Lags everytime someone Pits or leaves Pit.
I ve read that LFS needs more CPU-Power than Gafik(card)power so I believe its the CPU.
But perhaps people with bigger CPU experience the "Pit-Lag", too?
... btw I ve 1GB Ram so it cant really be a Ram-Problem

P.S. My Ping is about 45ms on most Servers I join.

Well we ve been training SO Long yesterday, some of the Endurance Driver joined and it was fun (at least for me).
But it looks like this Race will have many Crashes )
Hope we dont run into too many trouble with each other, its nearly impossible at some Places on the Track to avoid a crash if someone makes a mistake and turns around or something...
Just think of not driving too hard at limit, exspecially at the beginning when all driver are still in a row, otherwise we ll have a whole bunch of cars running into each other

Is it possible to make our Races "watchable" for others?

As the others said, its the Endurance League so it has to be long Races....

Its my first Endu-Season, but untill nothing irregular happens, i ll be racing more Seasons here
Its really fun and challenging!

The Time is ok for me, 1/2 a hour earlier might be good...
...but I can imagine that people living more East and thus starting even later have problems with staying fit until Racestart (perhaps after a long working day...)

Are there any disadvantages with a Rule like 80 Drivers Qualify for 60 free Raceslots? It sounds ok for me....
