It just disappeared all of the sudden. It did show again after a bit. I think it was because i dented it again.

I have a piece of wood clamped on a little stool, put a old big electric motor on the stool so it wont move and put the shifter on the plank. Have it there for more than 3 years now, works perfect.

Do you know that you don't have to melt metal to make it weak. For example copper loses most of it's strength if heated over 140 or 150 degrees celcuis. So you don't need to melt (as in making it liquid) metal for it to lose it's strength

Sure it isn't a sticky EGR valve? Might be worth looking at and if possible to block the egr's off.

The local electronics shop has potentiometers for about 10p around here. You know the specs so check locally or try ebay.

There are many many more people phoning while driving than there are drunk drivers. Therefor it's possible that more accidents happen with people who phone while driving than with drunk drivers. Even though the risks of phoning while driving are lower.

Mathematical example (numbers made up by me purely for explaining:

Damage by drink driving:
Damage = risk(0.0001) x quantity (7,000,000) = 700 incidents per year

Damage by phoning while driving:
Damage = risk (0.00001) x quantity (300,000,000) = 3000 incidents per year

As you can see the risk of a incident while phoning is 10 times lower than it is with drink driving. Yet the number of incidents are 4.2 more than with drink driving.

Oil is a great isolator but will probably not reach the contact patch in the pot but you never know.

And a potentiometer for 6.5 quid is outrageous. Go to your local electrics shop and get one there for 25p. Ask for a 0.5watt 10.000 ohm potentiometer.

I've done 57k km with my g25 and g27. Got g27 as warranty replacement because the shifter wasn't working properly anymore and the steering would go off-center. However I've done all the 57k km with the pedals from the G25. However the throttle was sqeeking and were full of dust. I reversed the pedals (because it is more real) so they are hanging upside down. took most of the dust of, stops dust getting in the mechanism and the sqeeking also stopped after a while .

In your situation I would contact Logitech for warranty.

EDIT: never had any spiking.
