How much will you be paying for that rig? Although I'm only running demo at the moment, I highly doubt you will need more ram than 2gigs just to run LFS on high. Especially it being 1066MHz.

Some things to check before purchasing:

- How many RAM slots it has. If it's a pre-built from DELL, HP, etc, there's a good chance it will only have 2 and most likely 2x1GB sticks. This is fine until you want to upgrade meaning you will need to fork out money for either one 2GB stick or 2x2GB sticks then put the old RAM on eBay.

- If it's a pre-built, odds are, say goodbye to upgrading the graphics card. Dell especially, is bad for having a special form factor power supply. Most newer cards require at least a 400w PSU.

As a computer tech, nothing hurts me more than seeing someone overpay on a machine.

I've followed every server guide out there and opened the necessary ports but for some reason my server isn't popping up now although I am able to join via LAN.

I was having this issue yesterday as well but somewhere along the line it decided to show up because a few people were coming and going from my server. I took it down over night and when I went to put it back up, it wouldn't show.

I had friends try to connect to my IP, connect using my IGN and of course look in the server list. Nothing worked.

I figured out the issue.

"Q: How do I start it?
Type /insim 29999 on your server."

I took "on your server" as in, go in your game and type it. Doing so did allow the program to connect but it didn't start the mod.

For anyone having the same misunderstanding as myself, you must type "/inim 2999" in the "Live For Speed DEDI."

I have a server hosted, the drag mod enabled and connected..... but the mod isn't there. I'm not getting any errors... the lights just aren't showing up.

Also, I'm getting a bug where:

blah has joined spectators
blah has left the pits
blah has joined spectators
blah has left the pits
...
...
until I leave and come back in. It's done it to other players who joined as well so it's not just the host.

Alright, i got the server up and running but now I'm lost on setting up the drag mod. There aren't really any directions included.

Servers up... I ran ISRM and it says "connection successful... press any key to exit." Does this mean it's applied and I can now exit? Or Do I leave it running until I bring down the server?

-should this mod be put somewhere special? Or can it have it's own directory?

-Can't get it to work

-I don't understand how to get the starting line to work. The directions are unclear.

EDIT: I'm also getting a bug where it will keep sending you to pits. Almost immediately after "leaving" the pits it will put you back in. Others are having this issue as well in my server. We've found leaving and coming back in fixes the bug.

I've searched the forums high and low and am still having problems finding any information on how to setup a drag server for the blackwood straight in the demo version.

I've become so fed up with crashers in the drags... it's so pathetic how some people are.

Also, I'm having issues getting a server up and running. I have a feeling it's router related but I've forwarded all the necessary ports and the server still doesn't come up but that's another topic for me to hunt down.

Thanks in advance guys. I'm looking forward to joining the licensed drivers soon when I sort out some other priorities.

The 8400 is much better than the x1300.
