Hi folks,

I've used to play LFS with my Medusa Headset for quite a while and have been happy with the overall sound.

Now though I bought myself a cheap 5.1 system from Creative, I know it's not the cutting edge, but in games like TDU2 it gives a sound I am perfectly happy with.

In LFS though the sound is pretty poor, Bass kicks in at certain revs way too much, but apart from that there is just no depth in the sound. It sounds as if I was driving in a cathedral with the hollow sound far away from me.

Do you have any advice for me how to add more depth to the sound as currently it is a very huge let down for me.....

I'm using my onboard soundcard of the MSI K9N Delta Mainboard, 5.1 that is. 5.1 activated in Realtek Audio manager.

This is an unexpected present I sat down in front of my old locked S1 version a couple of weeks ago and pitied myself for not being able to watch my good old replays......This will make me undust my wheel for sure

By the way, with graphics on maximum settings, S1 doesn't look bad at all, see the link for a small Collage I created a while ago for a POTW competition:

To me the progress report says: We're getting to closer to get an idea on how a tire model could look like......but then it's nowhere near the actual creation AND implementation into the game......Guess how long that'll take.

It's not about the money I already spent. Unlike many people here who claim it's their "right" to get updates because they paid... for me LFS is super cheap for what you get. But it's a sad thing to lose interest into a sim I enjoyed for ages.

As a consequence I disassembled my Playseat last week.....

I don't get why you devs do not try to get help on board. Sure it's your "little baby" and you want it to be the way you want it to be. But when I have to create a huge calculation in Excel which seems to become more complex everytime I think about possible modifiers and calculations, I want it to be finished because at some point in time it is not "interesting" anymore to find out new things.

I'm a bit worried you will crack over this new tire model.....

I have a question concerning the Rules point IV Advanced Drivers.

"If the driver is listed on the initial application for the team, the driver will automatically be considered, and this decision will not go against the appeal count"

Just for clarification: Does this mean if the driver is included in the initial application, he cannot be "accused" of having driven MoE / IGTC and we do not have to ask for an exemption?

Just by looking at the remote at this moment, there are many drivers on the list I've seen regularly competing in MoE / IGTC or whatever.

Having heard of this as an entry league and "practice" league I wonder whether there are any teams that do not get a spot due to "good and established" drivers taking their spots.

Secondly, the test race is a decider if a team can be accepted to GTAL, why are there guest teams competing rather than have most of the signed up teams race to evaluate them? Also, now that some of the good and established drivers drive, how will you evaluate the rest of the drivers then.

Please don't take this as a hateful or whatever post, I'd just like to have my questions answered

You do not want to overtake in that "first" corner since in those cars it's impossible to go side by side. If you go to the inside you have to slow down a lot to get the corner properly. Overtaking at that place requires compromises from both drivers, else it'll be a huge crash with serious damage. You can try it but as a responsible driver looking further than just the next pass you will not risk it (that's my POV)

This is absolutely untrue!

On some machines Fraps limits the fps to 10-30 fps for whatsoever reason.

My machine is capable of recording videos in 1920x1200 50fps but not in 32 bits, unless I run LFS in windowed mode. Windowed mode + 32 bits is also 50 fps and more.

Also the HD speed doesn't matter when recording with fraps because even the uncompressed data is not large enough to get a normal HDD to get into troubles. I have a RAID-0 in my machine but I have no performance difference if I record to my non RAID-0 partition.

@ Timo, try recording in windowed mode and raise the FPS limit in fraps above 30FPS and you should be fine

Thanks to everyone who voted for me This gives a little boost to see that my work paid off (I spent about 3 hours to get it the way I wanted to have it [including the rendering time though ]) and maybe helps me to finish the video about my team I am working on for more than 2 years now o.O

I found it very interesting to see the different approaches to this new idea and I'd love to see a regular thing in the future, maybe with topics so the voting is simplified. This time there were so many different ideas that it was hard to decide who to vote for

Apart from that I do not know whether it is easy to get in and out this is looking very very nice. What I personally do not like is the boxy look of some of these wooden cockpits, so your version really does overcome the disadvantages mdf has over tubeframes

Well tyres do not belong to technical failures And this has to do with driving style and racing tactics.

An engine failure however is not really the driver's fault (unless he shifts from 7th to 3rd immediately, if that's possible at all) and so aren't most other defects, like hydraulics etc etc.

Haha speaking of which Brundle made me laugh before qualifying when he accused the non special diffuser teams of "bitching", he sounded genuinely seriously hacked off about it.

It's not about Hamilton becoming WDC. It's how ppl, mostly the media and that Norbert Haug dealt with it.
At least on German TV it was mentioned what a great driver he is and how uber awesome it is he's leading the championship etc. And Haug never became tired of mentioning that it's Lewis second season.
This pushing ppl to a higher Level than they actually are is what makes me sick ^^
Alonso was most successful in the last part of the season, in a worse car! And nobody talked about him for some strange reason.

And where he profited from other cars retiring due to technical failures it can't not be accounted to him as skill, but as a better job by the team, because reliability has nothing to do with the driver. Not in F1
