My ADSL modem connects at 6.5Mbit, but sadly with New Zealand's poor infrastructure, I can only get 2Mbit within NZ, and about 500kbit (off peak) from overseas. Often not enough to stream Youtube videos, especially during peak time.
Not to mention pings through the roof

taken to hospital as a precaution. apparantly he was complaining of a sore back, so if that's the only problem, he did little damage to himself.
they really should have red flagged the race at that point- there were only 6 green laps during the fourth hour...
and what was with the safety car for the first jason richards incident at the end (the one where he jumped the track and buried himself in the sand)? that didn't require a safety car, it wasn't blocking the track nor was it in a dangerous position. should have left him there to keep the flow of the race going- maybe it was done to liven up the final 10 laps?

disappointed to see Jason Bright out early, but I think that Lowndes winning the race was the best result, seeing as he was mentored by Brock and he finally ended Holden's reign [/bias]

i've left LFS (at the moment) for a few reasons.
1: i can't practise. i don't have time during the weeks, so i only ever had time to race during the weekend. and i'm always scared that my momo black pedals will break again, so i try not to use them...
2: flight simulator X is coming soon my first love, looking better than ever

i might be back, who knows. may depend on how quickly i get bored of FSX

i remember about 3 years ago in the Bathurst 1000 V8 supercar race in Australia- a car hit a kangaroo while going up the mountain. it caused some damage to the front of the car, which also resulted in damage to the following car when it ran into the back of the first car.
neither car lost control, probably because a kangaroo doesn't have the same mass as a deer.

for me it depends how long the race is
i use the cromo tyres for short sprint races, whereas i prefer the michelin tyres for longer races (usually more than 20 laps)

yeah, i'd consider saving for a full upgrade

you're exactly right
normally i don't even worry about fuel when i join a server, unless the number of laps is set to more than 10 or 15.
- ending a race with 20% fuel does not put you automatically last
- likewise ending the race with 0.1% fuel does not put you automatically into first place.
- most online races are ~10 laps so a bit of extra fuel won't make a difference
- even if it does make a difference, you probably used the first race as a test anyway
