That info has been on there since the devs originally anounced their release plans, which (as you might already know) included a four release stages. BHM just never bothered to update the info...
Now let's just hope he didn't use Sony's rootkit :/. Is there an uninstaller for that thing yet? [edit] Yes there is, but apparently that's even worse...
@TheAfro: this has nothing to do with LFS or LFS's security. This is just a regular trojan that sends your IP to an FTP and leaves a backdoor open (atleast that's my guess based on what Kegetys found out). That way the guy who made this can just connect to the IP through the backdoor and do whatever he wants. Assuming you understood all that, you'll realise this has nothing to do with LFS, apart from the fact the guy was using LFS as a ploy to get people to download the trojan.
Yep. Would be interesting to see his reaction. Apparently he's gotten kinda hooked on GT4 because of his back problems, so he might appreciate LFS even better.
Just a tip: when you're dealing with file uploads, be sure to check whether the file extension is valid. A php file that has an image in it will pass all the standard image checks and will also display the image, but will still execute code that might follow the image, leaving you wide open to attacks
I'd wait for the first SED monitors to hit the market and see how those turn out (in quality and price) Thosiba is should come out with one at the end of the year.
One tip: set your AI to PRO. That way you get 48 points for a win, 32 for second place and 16 for third. The points don't matter at the moment, but they might in the future, so it can't hurt collecting some
Seven Samurai
Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas
Boogie Nights
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (anything by Wes Anderson really)
Goodfellas
Terminator 2
Hana-bi (and every other movie I've seen by/with Takeshi Kitano)
Snatch
and a couple hundred more
Vic could add a custom profile field where people could enter it. Don't see the point of it though. This is the LFS forum now and in ten years time you'll be able to say, "I was here from the start."
The probability that if you introduce modding now, the playing field will be diluted even further, reducing the chance of finding a server with a full grid.
I agree that there first have to be more people online before modding becomes an option. Double the amount of players would be a minimum I think.
The devs have indicated they intend to release the editors in the future, but probably only after S3. The new cars and tracks Eric makes are the main reason people buy new licenses. If people could just stick with S1 or S2 and still add more tracks (and cars), there would be no reason (apart from supporting the devs of course) to buy S3.
There is a way to circumvent this though: let people who have already payed for S3 be able to 'unlock' mods. That way the devs can release the editors before S3, but still get the money. So, maybe they'll go with that eventually. Dunno
Don't expect any of that before S2 is really finished though.
