just finished a GTR series, I was racing the FZR, most of the other competitors were racing the FXR. The FXRs would almost always beat me off the line due to the drivers spooling up the turbo (by flooring it) and launching well on the green light.
Any general tips for getting a good take off in the FZR? Is it possible to beat the FXRs off the line?
I don't play LFS all that much, however I've played enough to know that some drivers are quite secretive about their setups.
With the new Hotlap Analyzer available on lfsworld, setup info of Hotlap replays is freely given. I was wondering how racers (particularly Hotlappers) feel about this new feature on lfsworld?
I use the paddles on the wheel to change gears, however I use the shifter's buttons for pit limiter etc. I'll check to see if the shifter (set to sequential at the mo') is bound to do anything.
when I activate xfire in game to message a friend etc, my car in LFS starts revving uncontrollably. It seems that xfire interferes with my G25 wheel when the xfire overlay is active.
I have previously been able to use xfire in LFS without this strange problem, however that was a good 6-12 months ago.
Can any other players using xfire let me know if they get the same problem?
have been reading a couple of books on setups etc, in Drive to Win by Carroll Smith, he has a checklist of causes and effects in regards to car handling etc.
Under the heading "Corner Entry Understeer -- car won't point in and gets progressively worse"
one of the possible causes is "Insufficient front damper bump force"
Later under "Corner Entry Understeer -- car initially points in then washes out"
he states "Insufficient front damper bump resistance" as a possible cause.
He makes reference to rebound settings in other sections, just wondering if someone can clarify what he might mean by "Bump force" and "bump resistance"? Is he referring to shocks that have low speed and high speed bump? I think I have been reading too much too fast and confusing myself. heh.
