Actually I'm not interested in revs or speed because I already can check that ingame, I'm really interested in displaying fuel and box options (those you can usually change in F12 menu) wich I tend to forget while racing but may need some tweak in real time. It would save me time if I can have it displayed in my PSP
Is there any outgage program to do that? In this case I wouldn't mind psp lag because it's not a variable value that is changing every second so I could even use the wifi and forget about wires.
Everything seems fine by now, but I've suffered a couple of "billy took the wrong rute" just after going a bit outside the track through those red+white wheels
This didn't bother me before the X patch because the car would always reset but now it drives me to spectator mode becase of the canreset=no
I know that a big crash should end my race, but when you're just going a bit offlimit it shouldn't, mostly because when you miss the brake point there's a fair amount of space you can see in your monitor to turn around and get back to the track but suddenly you go to spectator for no reason (from the racer pov, we all know it's because the track has a limit in game because of checkpoints and stuff)
It isn't a X5 related bug but it's a X patch related issue that I think it should be checked before releasing the autoupdater version
Wow you're very clever and you got a good point there... err.. NO
You're obviusly wrong, if you were a mature person instead of a silly child trying to make fun of us you wouldn't had post that
Now rest a little and go do your homework or daddy will hit your lazy ass :P
You got a point there garph, but once again the reason is that we're hosting races for lots of newbies who makes a lot of mistakes and they are the really damnified of the consecuences of this bug. This does not happen in 1st and 2nd divisions where accidents aren't that common and most of the drivers end the race
The patch X includes +12 drivers in each race so there are more probabilities to have accidents than before this patch
Btw I'm not really worried about the bug hitting a fence (South City being the exception :P) but about collisions between cars wich are very common in every race and sometimes have very unrealistic consequences
Thanks again to Scawen for taking time to read our thoughts and explain how the wip is going (even though he doesn't need to do it)
I hope you already have something in mind to avoid this bug and make the game more realistic
Hell I can't wait to see the next change in physics even if that means throwing all my hotlaps out of the window
hey alfalover, maybe if you were a better (and faster) driver you wouldn't be racing in the last division and suffer so many collisions
When you're racing in the top divisions the feeling of the races is totally different and you can have a 100% clean race from start to finish with lots of great fights between skilled drivers
I'm not saying Spain is the best and shit like that, this is not about countries but about bugs in a game we all love to play
You could had written your thoughts and pov w/o offending anyone, your post has no sense to me
You may try to make him look like a fool but it's not the case, we first had a discussion in our league forum about this matter and instead of flooding the official forums we decided to post one single thread (dexter was just the one who post it) and discuss here what the international crew thinks about it
Anyways and with independence of what may happen in the spanish league what we're discussing here it's the unrealistic collisions in lfs and if it should be at the top of the list
Please let's stay calm and discuss this matter like civilized people without offending anyone
I'm a driver from the spanish league mentionated in this thread and I can say for sure that 40% is not real data
We're running several divisions every monday where you can find from the most skilled drivers (1st div) where almost 95% of the racers finish the race, to the slowest drivers (lower divisions but still drivers... you know) where there a lot more of accidents and hits between cars since they tend to make mistakes more often
In a lot of real competitions there are many hits between cars (just take a look at the WTCC) and most of them are just scratches, but in lfs half of the hits is the last hit you've made in that race
I mean... you softly hit someone in the rear bump and there's a big chance your car will spin, and if you hit someone (again very softly) in the middle of a curve you're almost done for because your car may fly or almost making a 90º turn and directly going against the nearest wall (just to fly again out of the track :P)
Of course I agree with Becky we need to educate our drivers, that's why we have several divisions and even a "noob" one where the new players can take a first aproach to the competition and learn how to behave in track. Anyways that's not an answer to our problem, the bugs are still there and make the game look very very unrealistic when they happen (more or less often) and we really think that it should be on the top of the bugs to fix list
I've always thought that would be cool to lift up a fist enraged after someone hit you in the back or something like that, or showing a thumb up to a team mate or the winner of the race to show him some respect
I'd love to have several animations, specially on convertible cars because right now we look like robots
I've read the whole thread and I think you guys should have 1 thing in mind before suggesting changes
>>>>> Hotlapping is a different game than Racing <<<<<
I like this game because it's a driving simulator, I've spent a lot of money buying hardware just to enjoy the experience of driving racing cars that I couldn't otherwise in real life. I've bought a G25 Wheel, a bigger screen/monitor and even built a cockpit just to get that "racing feeling" when I play... but it's still a GAME
LiveForSpeed offers 2 different driving experiences:
1.- Hotlapping
2.- Online Racing
The first one is a battle against the chrono, the second one is a battle against other racers and they both got their good points to be enjoyable in their own ways
When I play hotlap I try to make a good set that would let me run a perfect superpole, looking for the limit of the car and my own skills. And for this goal I don't need a lot of wasted time heating the tyres or driving nonsense laps just to get an optimal condition to drive a fast lap, because it's not fun at all.
I can't see the point of adding pit starts in hotlap mode, it won't be more realistic because, again, it isn't realistic to hit a button and restart after you've crashed your car against a wall, it will be just more time consuming
But when I play online mode it's a total different world... if you've ever played in leagues you will notice that the whole mood is different, you have to THINK different, your sets are no longer built to drive the fastest lap, now you need 2 different sets, one set built to last a long race with the best possible pace and a second one built to drive the fastest possible lap in a 10 minutes (or more) qualification but with enough room to make mistakes without screwing it.
It's precisely in this mode where I'm looking for the most realistic experience and where the most realistic aspects of the game helps to the inmersion feeling of taking part in a real competition
So following this reasoning, adding pits starts in qualification mode it's completly logical and may help the simulation experience (because this way you could control when to go out from pits, get the timming of "the traffic" and a lot more things), but adding pits in hotlap would just be more time consuming and wouldn't contribute anything to the simulation experience since the goal of hotlapping is different from racing
And always keep in mind that we're spending time playing a game that should be, by all means, FUN
