I would reverse your advantage Spa/Monza calls.

Ferrari are strong on high speed aero corners - Spa will suit them and Kimi quite well. McLaren ride those kerbs at Monza very well and have good straightline aero efficiency when they don't have to use it to go around corners too.

I've been to the Melbourne GP paddock.

A tour of the Ferrari pits. It's very tightly regulated - you need to scan your pass at a security point to get in. And there really weren't many VIPs in there either - most of them hang out in the Paddock Club rather than the paddock itself. And having access to one doesn't automatically mean access to the other. The paddock is where the drivers can chill out a bit and not have people crawling all over them every second and where the teams can just get on with their job.

Basically, you need to know someone who knows someone sort of thing to get in.

Quote from Gabkicks :the game feels great. ffb is great and the cars move as you would expect them... but alot of modders who have looked at the games insides were a bit dissapointed with how there were some "shortcuts" taken in the physics department.

Really? Interesting. Maybe it was done to be able to get consoles to handle the calculations?

Yes, nkPro is the one I'm really waiting for. As much as I love GTL's handling and feel I'll acknowledge that the engine it's built on is the MS Flight Simulator of race sim engines. Very open and easy to work with but still using tables to look things up and not calculating properly. But, in the end, it's the game that I enjoy playing the most and convinces me best that I'm driving a real car. For all it's realism, to me LFS feels wrong - unless I'm driving the FO8 and then it feels spot on. Dodgy cockpits, dodgy sounds, arcadey looking displays and fantasy cars & tracks don't help the cause for me either but each to their own.

Quote from Hankstar :GPL? .. never heard of it, Mick

Haha - it's nice to go to a forum where I'm not actually staff or anything and just stir things up.

My vote went to GTL on that list although out of all sims currently produced, Richard Burns Rally has by far the most advanced physics. NR2k3 and GTR are the best representations of real life racing series ever produced.

I appreciate most sims on that list. They are all works of art in their own way. I currently play GTL almost exclusively and I love it. Online is awesome fun. Just throwing the cars around feels great. It's the best sim of low-speed cars I've ever played. I can feel what the car is doing so much more than in LFS - but that's a subjective thing. There is no "best", there is only a "favourite". I just laugh at anyone who thinks otherwise.

Looks like LFS has been knocked off it's perch fellas. Who would believe that another game could have fanboys just as rabid!

Well, at least it looks like RSC so I won't have to get used to any new buttons.
