U can use seperate pc's to render separate windows-that is what i'm talking about - somone used it to start LFS on 4 monitors - and i want to work this method better...

yes - i 've seen it -but it renders wide view from one point - u cannot put one monitor in front of you and one left side one right side -they have to be in line to make normal picture. I sugessted to use 2 machines or more to render many monitors with fov and angle u want to set

I made several experiment of multiscreen renderind , widescreen , 3dstereo -
Now lfs supports dualscreen stretch and dualscreen stereo 3d.(nVida cards of course)
In the first case its uses constant fow and acts 2 displaus like 1 big display.
To use more than 2 displays or 2 display with differren angle and fow u have to use another pc and connetc it though network , choose spectator and configure view. It works quite good - but in fast moving pictures u can notice the 2 pc sometimes have lags and bad syncronisation.



I suggest to make LFS command line parameter and improve protocols that will connect it to specific localhost as a render (through udp maybee) locked on a specific viev - only reciving packets at fastest possible (configurable) rate.


Also receive the view direction (optional) from the host for trackir support.

1(i'm trying to imlent) dualprojector system where the first display is redered with lesser fow and second with bigger -and project them on one screen - first generates clear central picture - second - not-so clear huge wide viev

I have driven the car with locked diff.The bolt lock diff and clutchpack. It was 80hp fwd lada. It didnt have powersteer. It was hard, but possible to drive and it had great adwantage on snow. WHen the diff lockes it tryes to spin your wheel hardly and u have allways hold the wheel firmly during turns, especially on tarmac and slicks-style tyres.The behaviour was like lfs-but in chicanes the tires burns and all small radius turns was some sort of drifting. Clutchpack was quite comfortable-u almost doesnt notice it. I didnt use visco type diffs but i think if ull try to use it IRL like it is used in lfs i'll burn in a moment - in opel calibra or awd audi if your tire radius on one wheel is 5-10 mm smaller than on other - 100km and your visco is burned. The guy race with me on awd opel vectra changed about 5 diff boxes. And of cause the tyre damage...

But the other problem -how to mod AYC type system used in mitsubishi evo -6-8 and subaru ...The are used in rally- so must be in lfs - but the algorytm it works is complicated - it has accelerometrs in the center of the car - near hadbrake - and if car starts spinning- it locks the diffs.
I'm trying to make rb4 act exactly like my evo8 IRL -but it is not so easy .

USEFULL TIP- u can use ghostcar to draw ideal line in multiplayer - to do this u have to make copy of your lfs directory-and remove from the copy d3d8.dll
Then start copy of LFS (with minimum graphics) and initilise /insim=28888 in this copy - the first copy of lfs (with d3d8.dll) u're playing multiplayer - the second copy u staert the same track with the same car.

Disclaimer:
I don't think it is an unfair advantage - if u're a bad driver u'll wont become a winner anyway - but it'll help u to avoid wrecking...If ure a good driver- u know better when to steer an when to brake....

I've seen tuning BlowOffs for turbocars which are designed TO MAKE SOUND... My turbo car doesnt make any sound when BOW opened -and it works great.... Kill these treads- its stupid stuff that can floood the lds idea....and turn it into nfs

In replay ghostcar and path will apear after the first full lap the replay car will make. U must hit button before the car in the replay starts the round (crosses start-finish line first time ) .And dont change views during the replay or toggle windowed/fullscreeen.After replay car make first lap u'll see "new ghostcar record " message and the path is saved. Try WR replays with few laps. After the first lap u'll see ghostcar in replay.

I think it is good for begginers like me to have ghostcar with excellen trajectory and time to learn from.

I asked Keygets to enable it in his ghostar mod ,but perhaps he is too busy.
So i made this utility to make ghostcar capture his tracks from replay.

1. Make sure u have ghostar mod.
2. Backup Your ghostcar replays.
3. Start lfsgrun or type /insim=28888 in lfs.
4. Swich to windowed mode.(or alt-tab)
5. Start ghostpatch exe
6. Open WR replay.
7. During the beggining of the replay press ghostpatch's button.
8. Dont change cameras or other settings until the end of the replay
9. U HAVE NEW GHOSTCAR'S RECORD.

10. Try to beat it

2 orion: when u move mouse u see driving wheel slider or interior wheel - it will turn without delay but with some constant max speed.

It is impossible in reality to make wheels turn instantly-or i want such device in my car.

I'ts NOT ONLY MOUSE - U CAN USE VERY LIGHT SENSITIVE 60 degree WHEEL WITHOUT FEEDBACK on airplane pedals or whatever to steer the lfs car or real car-i've seen such prototypes -by it is impossible to make mekhanism wich will instanly turn normal wheels in reality-THAT IS WHY WE DONT SEE IN REALITY MOUSE-or jostick-CONTROLLED RACECARS. Each turning wheel is a gyroscope - and if u lift fwd car and run it and make weels turn-than sit into it and try to turn wheels right and left- u'll notice significant force-even the wheels are in the air and no friction with the ground ...And than imagine car on hot slicks....Even if u are in the hi-end racecar with smart electrical steering amplifier-it is not able to turn wheels instanly especially at high speed.
From THIS point of realism even the computer driving wheels - the best - are not ideal .I havent seen the wheel wich has strong enough feedback to make it impossible to turn if u are trying to turn it too fast.

But i think something have to be done - or soon we'll -face with some artificial driving style-like braking, rapidly turnig weels from side to side lock or so

Mouse "fast steering" penalty

I have noticed that in lfs u can turn your wheel to any angle almost instantly if u use a controller like mouse (or wheel whith very small angle). I was using df pro and noticed , watching races as a spectator, that sometimes in some cars the wheel turns very strange and unrealisticly fast. In real life if u'll have a steering whith very sensitive ratio (like formula) u still cant turn whell very fast because its VERY hard.

During the race u have significant advantage if u can steer very fast- especially when the car starts to drift and u must catch it - the mouse with the ability to set the correct angle for the wheels with one easy movement looks ideal.

The solution -if we cannot controll the hardware that player uses-maybe for the road cars in lfs must be some wheel turning delay-whitch will be less than the fastest time pro pilot can steer with the normal whell, so i'll be unnoticable if u use normal 900 degree wheel with some feedback-but the balance between wheel an mouse will be correct.

Unfortunatly players dies too easy in lfs cars cause of lfs's collision model. They have to improve cars smashing - in LFS car smashes only visually but acts like rubber.In reality car absorbes energy when smashing.

The flying after the drivers soul cameras and action is possible to addd- as to make configuable phrases and so on....I'll do that -but now i need more crash-test stats for 4-point belt and rally seat - it is obvious that the crash in back is not so harmless than crash in front-it'll be great to have the diagramm of the degree of the hit and G human can survive....

Btw if u'll try it u'll find that LFS damage model is not good - cars are too firm - the car is quite drivable but the G is much more 70....

2. Unzip attached file to /gmeter/plugins/ and enjoy.

If G>50 it displayes chat message U ARE DEAD and G value..
It uses the correct calculated G .U can adjust timer according to your system-the G is average value on the timer's interval..

In fact i think that LFS is more than the game - i'm sure its setups and lap records will be sold to VAG or Mitsubishi finally for good money. I used autocross editor to emulate real rallisprint tracks - it works and significantly helps to prepare to real race. If the injuruy simulation together with more realistic damge will be done it is possible new concept of rollcages or other car safety will be found. BUT at a current stage i only wanted a simplified drivers death emulator based on g calculation at the drivers position - to train correct instincts. Now it is not important if you hit tires or brick wall-the result is damaged but usually drivable car. But in a reality if you'll hit a wall above 60 km/h in golf style car you are in 90% dead. I think it will be good for children ,who are not drivers yet ,but start playing LFS ,to clearly understand it. And for us, who drivereal cars, to have instinct if we are off the track to save our virual life. BTW - the death stats can help track architectors -if u're planning to bild a real track($$$$$$$$$ projects) u can make its model in lfs and see the most dangerous places...Anyway it can be easylly done -just one line in the code- smth like if ( G_DRIVER>GMAX) message "U are dead".A short info message will be enough. Even without any effects and gameplay action.

It would be great to have a switchable option of turning on realistic players injuries after the collision.(turned on in the training) We know how many G we have on players body during collision - we can compare it to the Fia stats on 4 point belt safety stats and report it as "Broken chest" or "players death"....After your death your...have to restart the race.

The Idea - i am using LFS as a sim - to get some scillls in real life (Sometemes I race my Evo8) - and it will be useful not to relax and always remember that mistakes in the coners are not only "funny flying cars".
