Hi, just started playing LFS again after a few years, very rusty! Got a wheel but lost the power lead so no force feedback and its currently perched on my lap! Forgot how much I love this game, hope you won't mind me being one of the back markers.
If in a race online and I'm in a slow car should I pull over to the left or the right to let people past?
Funniest thing I have ever read on the internet, full stop. Have you never been in a fast (Even slightly,) car? An Omega with a 2.0 engine has the same power to weight ratio as a piece of tarmac, and a 2.0 Granada is just worse. Shame on you....
I would like to see more tyre smoke, so when you are really smoking around, drifting, burnouts etc you get a massive hazy cloud of smoke rather than just a pissy little bit by the tyres.
What about some sort of classic motor, with leaf springs and stuff, real archaic handling. Something 'state of the ark' based on like an old Capri or something? Would be a laugh, classic racing....
I think some diesel power would not be too hard to implement, would make endurance races interesting and they are quick nowadays. I have the use of an Audi A3 with a 100ps Pump Deuse Diesel engine and it is a flier. Bit nose heavy with the extra weight but it has endless torque. Another good example of a tasty diesel is the 3.0 inline six turbocharged effort that powers current BMW's. This can be chipped to 100bhp/litre and is a very competent motor.
I would love to see some vans in LFS, LWB Mercedes Sprinters are incredibly fun to drive and have bags of oversteer potential with hugely powerful diesel engines driven through the rear on crappy tires and with no weight in the rear to aid grip. They are also capable of 100mph+ easily.
Food for thought?
I don't mean autocross, I mean being able to explore more outside the track. I used to have a demo of a game called Viper racing which was pretty cack but I spent hours driving the car off the beaten track and missioning it around off road. You could drive really far and it was quite challenging to see how far you could get this viper to go before it got to the point of no return. Thoughts please... ollie.
Hi, noob here. Am I alone in finding it easier to drift (XR GT/ XR Turbo) with an open diff? Just seems easier to initiate sideways movement, and easier to hold. I keep trying with a clutch pack LSD with 25% lock up (Cos this is what my car in real life has) but it just seems to make me spin easier. Any thoughts appreciated.... Ollie
