Windshields are made of laminated glass so they don't break into millions of pieces when damaged. Usually all the other windows on a car are made of simple tempered glass so they shatter easily.
Yeah, LFS is a more complete package(for more money), but it's not superior in everything. I really like it but right now there are areas where other sims are better. LFS' tyre physics has hardly changed over the last 4 years, there were some tweaks but that's all.
I had too many problems with previous version of NK Pro but the latest version runs great on my pretty slow computer and it has great physics and FFB too and that's important for me.
I don't know how much time you spent playing LFS but after a few years the little things will start to bother you more and more and you'll look at other sims too.
I quite like the new version but I don't have space on my desk to use my wheel. How can I turn off traction control if I'm using keyboard and mouse to drive?
I always loved the XRT, that's why I bought a Starion
If I win the lottery I'll buy a widebody Starion, an RX7 and a 3000 GT interior and I'll combine these to build a real life XRT
He has some problems with engine braking and according to him it's too easy to stall the cars when you attempt to set off without throttle.
Hmm, I don't think I've ever really felt the bite point of the clutch on the pedal in my car. I feel the change in acceleration and that gives me the bite point quite accurately but I don't feel that on the clutch pedal.
However FFB would be good to simulate clutch malfunction.
Mitsubishi Starions, as you can guess from my avatar.
I don't know exactly when I got addicted to them but I'm sure XRG and XRT in LFS was the cause .
I have two narrowbody Starions ATM(one is for parts only), but someday hopefully I'll have a widebody too.
Mine:
You've driven one car with turbo and you think you know how all turbo cars behave?
I have two Starions, one with the first generation TC06 turbo which is bigger, and one with the newer and smaller turbo. The older car builds up boost later but can hold it better in the higher RPM range. The smaller turbo comes on sooner but it's not as effective at higher RPM and feels more responsive.
These two cars are almost identical, but they behave quite differently just because they don't have the same turbocharger.
Of course I'm not saying LFS' turbo modelling is totally accurate but most of the people here(including me) don't have enough knowledge and experience to comment on this because it's a very complicated subject.
Same here... my car standing outside for 3 days now because I have to store the parts car in my garage. Some idiot smashed the driver's side door pretty hard. No notes, no sorry, nothing.
I had to take the door off my parts car then strip the dented door and take it off. After that I had to install the other door and adjust it, so I could at least close it. It's great fun in -4 Celsius outside in snow. I have to change the lock and paint the whole door when I have time.
It is in a very early stage, it will be optimized and refined in all aspects but not even the developers know when this will be. They don't have enough money to just leave everything and work on this fulltime.
The development team is now making Iphone games to support the future development of Pannonia Rally, the latest version is 1.11 (IIRC more than 6 month old) you can download it from here. The full game won't be free but in the current state they don't want to charge money for it.
It should be 80/25, but for some odd reason on this machine I can't get max speed on Speedtest but it works fine with torrents. It costs about £15 month.
