the problem with my 7950GX2 is that both cards actually run @ 8x PCI-E. This is because PCI-E slots r 16x so they both cant be 16x, therefor making it slower then 2 7950GT's

i said basically.. not exactly :P Of course an AGP card is gonna be worse then PCI-E but yeh.. a 7800GS would be his best get

lol Asus M2N32-SLi Deluxe motherboard. I got some help from Overclock.net and one bloke mentioned the best way for the FX series is to up the multiplier, which i adjusted from 14 to 15 giving me a core speed of 3ghz per core.

I got the stock heatsink, but they r much different to other AMD Heatsinks, they have copper piping out the side and a larger heatsink in general. Been using it for a while and temps all running around the same which is good

Quote from shrubba :Yeah, it's AGP. Is that bad? I really don't know...
I am guessing that AGP is getting harder to find a good Graphic card in?
nVidia still makes some though, right? Which one would you suggest?

oh, and Forbin, is Rambus RDRAM bad? I don't know...

Thanks again every one!

Shrubba

Well in that case, the best AGP card u can buy is the 7800GS, its basically the same as the PCI-E 7800 series except for AGP.. think its pretty cheap too

hmm more voltage, i didnt think of that (slaps myself) See i was using Ai Booster (came with Asus mobo) and figured it'd do it all automatically (as there r preset settings of o/c 103% 105% 108% and 110%) Both cores r 2.8ghz stock and with a 110% o/c it goes up to 3.08ghz per core.

Thanks for that overclocking link, i'll have to check it out

I'm happy with mine as "Monaro" was taken (which is what i use in all games) so i use nicknames ppl have given me over the years while using monaro such as my s2 license name (Munza) and others like Monny etc

<3 monaros

Quote from Ball Bearing Turbo :Thanks for the replies so far; I'm leaning towards the S939 for now.

Good idea, coz with AM2 you need DDR2, and to get ne performance increase over S939 you need to get the high quality stuff (6400 800mhz), And i dont know about over there but here in aus prices have sky rocketed (My 2GB corsair kit cost me $450 and is now $570) So ur best staying with 939 and not needing to spend heaps on RAM

Quote from Jakg :
(well, i overclocked it to 2800, but thats a nother matter!)

How stable do u find this mate? Coz i have an FX-62 Dualcore and when i overclock, after about half n hour my computer hangs and i have to go into the bios and reset to default which annoys the hell out of me

Quote from B11TME :I have the 7950gx2 and it is a real beast.....I will be looking at getting another one start of the year so i can sli them.

I also have a 7950GX2 and was thinking about geting another one, but i read there is no point in having 2 unless your running all your stuff at like 2500x1600

I've played both, and to put it simply, LFS has a better feel and more realistic feel.

Quote from Spacid :Just found it, thanks.

Its not usefull for me for LFS (I got 2 CRT's with a big border) But for strategy games its nice. (but still confusing atm)

Ahh ok, well if u decide to buy LCD's, they pretty much all now come with narrow beazle so it makes it better for dual monitors etc

Quote from Jakg :24"!?! ah, that might be a problem! I asked because my not-so-1337 rig gets 125 fps with ful aa and af, that's just with a 7950GT (Slightly overclocked) and a 4000(...now at FX-57 speeds) with my tiny 17 incher

Seems like that extra res kils your fps!

On my rig i seem to average lately 150-190 FPS on a fx62 with 7950GX2 (not o/c) on a 19" monitor with full aa etc.

Quote from Spacid :Could you alter the program so it uses only 2 monitors using 1 vga card? (or is that already possible)

should be an option in ur settings to make ur desktop go across all screens as it were to be 1 giant screen

best do un-install the old drivers and install the drivers that come with the CD and update them if needed.

And for some random spam - ATI sucks and so do their drivers :P

ur 6600GT's wouldnt take that much power dude, i'm running a 7950GX2 off a 650W PSU and my card would use more power then ur 2.

Physx cards r pointless and r a waste of money. Only a few games run them such as GRAW and they infact cause a drop in FPS because the graphics card then has to render more things.
